Wild Wonderland at Lowry Park Zoo, is one of the most festive holiday events that Tampa Florida has to offer. What better way to celebrate the joy of Christmas then sharing quality time with your family, while making some of the most precious memories. Wild Wonderland has so much more to offer then just another light display. This event truly has something for everyone to enjoy, regardless of age.
Wild Wonderland 2007 at Lowry Park zoo, is certain to bring smiles to every kids face, as they walk through Frosty’s Foam Factory. What better way to bring snow to Florida? Once the little ones are through playing in the snow, maybe they’ll want to ride a few rides. Guess what, the regular park rides such as the Jungle Carousel, and Pony Trek are FREE with paid admission. If that doesn’t satisfy them, then maybe the live Reindeer will. That’s right, Santa let Lowry Park zoo borrow some real reindeer. Also, be sure to check out the African Penguins, I heard their a little jealous over all the attention the Reindeer’s are getting. How about some games? Wild Wonderland will have several holiday games for the little ones to play, and they only cost .50 cents each.
If you enjoy Christmas lights, then you don’t want to miss this event. The entire park will be decorated with Holiday decor, and millions of twinkling lights. Among these lights will be lighted animal figures, snowflakes, trees, and even moving displays. For a birds eye view of the lights take a ride on the Skyfari Skyride, also free with admission. If your afraid of heights, you might enjoy a stroll on the Jingle Bell Horse Carriage ride. This ride takes only cost $4.00 per person, and includes a narrated story, as well as a romantic look at the lights.
Other things that you’ll find inside Wild Wonderland include a 15 foot tree made from Poinsettia plants. You also enjoy the Christmas spirit as carolers, and live bands fill the zoo with Holiday tunes. With so much to see, and enjoy, your certainly to be amazed with this event. But, there is one thing I might have forgot to mention. Santa will be there, and he knows who has been naughty, and who has been nice. For an extra $5.00 you can get your or your kids photo taken with Santa. It’s five dollars, but the photo is really nice, and worth the cost, plus the money goes back into the zoo.
Lowry Park Zoo’s Wild Wonderland dates are: November 30, December 1, December 7 – 8, December 14 – 16, December 19 -23, and December 36 -30. On these selected nights only Wild Wonderland is opened from 6 pm until 9 pm. On November 30 and December 1, admission will cost only $10.00 per person. All other dates admission will be $13.00 per adult, $11.00 per child, and children ages 2 and under are free.
From my own person experience, I have found that it is best to arrive at the zoo between 5 pm and 5:30 pm for the best parking. Parking is free, first come first serve, and the lot fills up quick.
