Loreal True Match Powder – Product Review

l'oreal, True Match

I’ve seen the Loreal True Match products in the store for a while now. However, I finally got the opportunity try out the True Match Powder.

The True Match Powder comes in a round compact similar to the True Match Blush, and a little similar to the Maybelline Dream Matte Powder. It seems pretty sturdy, which should be the case for a relatively expensive drugstore powder. I have no complaints about the quality of the packaging. It even includes a mirror and a sponge for quick use. I would recommend not using the sponge due to sanitation reasons.

One thing that is excellent about the Loreal True Match Powder is the enormous color selection. They offer a good color range, as well as options for cool and warm skin tones, which is really helpful to those of different skin tones who often find it difficult to match their skin color in powders or foundations.

The powder itself is rather opaque, and applied with a cosmetic sponge can create a lot of coverage for a powder. It might even be able to suffice instead of foundation because of its high coverage. It offers a matte finish, which will help it in setting foundation. While it is heavier coverage, it is never cakey on the skin, so it can be used over foundation, but I don’t think that is necessary.

The powder does offer a little oil control, I am not sure it offers the best oil control out of all pressed powders for people of oilier skin. For me, it works very well, as I have normal to dry skin, especially during the winter.

Overall, this is a terrific product. I have never seen a pressed powder offer so much coverage without any liquid foundation, and it seems to be on par with the MAC Studio Fix, but given the price, the Loreal True Match is a clear winner. I would really recommend this product to those who need it. I may repurchase it, but I do have mineral foundation that does similar things already.
