Local Farmers’ Markets in My Area

Kettle Corn, Local Farmers Markets

I live in the Saint Louis, Missouri area but I live about forty-five miles south of Saint Louis in a small town called De Soto. De Soto is very small and everybody knows everybody by name and that’s what I love about my city. When I first moved to De Soto their Farmers’ Market was the first thing I noticed. I knew I was in the right town because I love fresh produce and great prices.

Here is a list of local farmers’ markets:

De Soto Farmers’ Market is located at 1004 Rock Road De Soto, Missouri 63020 behind St. Andrews United Methodist Church. The same church holds De Soto Chorus concerts as well. The De Soto’s market has anything from plants, to crafts, to baked goods, and has a lot of fun activities for the kids and family. They even have their own mascot that is a carrot, Andy. Maybe I am partial and I live quite close to it but De Soto is by far my favorite farmers’ market. The market is open on Saturdays from 8am-12pm.

Pevely’s Flea Market & Farmers’ Market is located at 8773 Commercial Blvd in Pevely Missouri right off of I55 on exit 180. This market is massive so you will be walking a lot. I was told it was about seventeen acres total and seven acres itself for parking and believe it or not it gets crowded but this market has everything! Last year I saw a lady who made soap and sold it there. There is a jewelry repair there, there is a computer repair place, crafts, tons of fresh produce, custom hairbrushes, a guy who will air brush t-shirts and motorcycles, iPhone repairs, clothes, games, toys, oak and cedar trim (a lot of contractors go there because his prices are a lot lower-his are about a $1 per foot as most places it is about $3 a foot- than what they would find elsewhere), military surplus, King Kong Audio, and my absolute favorite is their kettle corn and a little place to get hot dogs and funnel cakes as well. Unlike most markets this one is open year round. The Shopping Mall area and the office is open Thursday 9am-4pm, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 8am-5pm. The Market Square is open Saturday and Sunday from 8am-4pm and the Outdoor Market is open Saturday and Sunday from 8am-5pm. This is a really fun market and my family and I enjoy it a lot.
