Little Boy’s Pee Target

When a little girl is potty training, she has fewer worries than a little boy. All she has to do is make it to the toilet, and sit on it. It’s much more challenging for a little boy. Even if he makes it to the toilet, it doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll pee in it. A little boy not only has to make it to the bathroom, but he has to learn how to aim, too. It’s going to take him awhile so try not to get upset. There is a little trick you can do to help him learn how to have perfect aim. You’ll have to put something in the toilet but it will only be for the little boy. Everyone else in the house can ignore it. When you create a toilet target you help your son learn perfect aim, and that makes life easier on everyone.

You don’t have to work hard to make a toilet target but you do have to choose the way that you want to make it. One way is to purchase a clear-backed sticker. You’ll find just the sticker you want when you shop at a craft store, or an online sticker store. The sticker must be the type that has an image on a clear backing, rather than on a white backing. Choose something your boy will use as a target inside the toilet. He might not want to pee on a little puppy or a smiley face, but he might not mind peeing on a monster, or on some flames.

Use a damp sponge to clean the area where the sticker will go. A good area if you’re standing and facing the toilet is in the back of the bowl, in the middle, and close to the water level. After cleaning the area, dry it well, and apply the sticker. Smooth the sticker, making sure the edges are sticking well.

A good quality window cling piece could also be used as the pee target. The vinyl should be thin; just cut one image from the cling, and affix it inside the toilet bowl. Another option is to use a paint pen, which is permanent, but will fade – and possibly disappear – after you use use bleach or other harsh cleaners, over a period of time. The paint marker can be used to draw a target or another simplistic image.

The toilet target is the ideal project to help your boy learn to have perfect aim. You’ll clean the toilet less, mop less, and you’ll have one proud, little boy! When he gets better aim, just remove the sticker or the cling.
