Lip Plumpers: Do They Really Work?

Duwop, Lip Plumpers, Lip Venom, Plumper

Alright, we have all watched the commercials on TV. The women on the commercials rant and rave about how they had such thin lips, and they used the miracle lip plumping formula and their lips are so voluptuous and juicy. At first I didn’t buy into it, there is now way that a product can do that, with such results. I started seeing more and more ads in magazines, commercials of lip plumpers and beautiful big lips. I decided to try it, still not believing it would work.

I went to my local drugstore and stocked up on plumping products. I grabbed a Wet n Wild Mega Plump Lip Gloss and Rimmel Volume Booster Lip Gloss. Later I hit up the local mall for a few more plumpers, which I purchased Victoria’s Secret Extreme Lip Plumper and Bath and Body Works Pop Culture Lip Plumper. I also decided later on to go all out and purchase a more expensive product which I had heard worked like a charm and created Bee-Stung Lips, so I purchased DuWop Lip Venom, which was the most expensive of all. With all of my lip plumpers ready to go, I started testing right off the bat.

On the first night I grabbed the Rimmel Volume Booster Lip Gloss. I was going out that night and had loved the color of it, so I tried it out. I applied the product and few minutes later my lips felt slightly tingly. The color was great, and it was definitely glossy for sure. It tingled for about ten minutes, then died off. I didn’t really notice much of a change in the volume of my lips, but the color and gloss lasted for awhile. The only real downfalls were that I thought it would plump my lips a little more, and it was somewhat sticky on my lips. Overall, I really liked the product, not the plumping effect.

The next product I tried was the Wet n Wild Mega Plump Lip Gloss. Immediately I noticed the scent of cinnamon when I opened the product. Once I applied it, my lips started tingling right away. I did notice a slight difference at first, it felt like my lips were swelling up. However, the product wore off after awhile. The tingling effect lasted for about twenty minutes. I did notice a big different at first with the product, I just wished it would have lasted awhile longer.

Next I tried Bath and Body Works Pop Culture Lip Plumper. I loved the Cool Melon scent, it was very appealing. However, I did not notice much of a plumping effect after all. This product is a great gloss, and is terrific over lipstick. I love it, but wish it had more plumping power.

Ok, I was really excited to try the Victoria’s Secret Extreme Lip Plumper. After paying twelve bucks for it, I figured it better be good. I put the product on, and could actually feel my lips plumping up. About half an hour later, I looked in the mirror and did notice a more plump lip. I was thrilled, the product really worked, and gave me a voluptuous lip look. It was also glossy and lasted for awhile. So far, this is definitely worth the money and my favorite lip plumper.

When I finally got to try the DuWop Lip Venom, I figured I saved the best for last. After trying the Victoria’s Secret Extreme Lip Plumper and loving it, I figured this product had some huge shoes to fill. Immediately after opening I noticed the cinnamon scent. I took out the applicator and put some on. It actually tingled a little less than the Victoria’s Secret product. I gave it about a half hour like the last product, and it did tend to have a similar effect. It was neck and neck with the Victoria’s Secret plumper so I tried them both again. This ended up being my second favorite plumper overall.

Well I am definitely a believer, however, these products did not give me the huge lips I saw on TV. I was definitely pleased with the results. My rankings of the following products are : in first place Victoria’s Secret Extreme Lip Plumper (I went a week later and bought another one!), second place DuWop Lip Venom, third place was a tie between Wet n Wild Mega Plump Lip Gloss and Rimmel Volume Booster Lip Gloss, Fourth Place was Bath and Body Works Pop Culture Lip Plumper. I still use each of the products, and love the glossiness, scent and taste of most of them. The product which was more bang for the buck was definitely Wet n Wild Mega Plump Lip Gloss at only three dollars, even though it did wear off, I still like it. I would really recommend any of these products, my all time new favorite lip color and lip gloss is the Rimmel Volume Booster Lip Gloss. The colors they offer are gorgeous and look suitable for a day at work or for a night on the town. Try them for yourself, you may be surprised. The overall result is though, that lip plumpers are not miracle products, however they do provide a better more voluptuous sexy lip.
