Leaves – a Slatkin and Co. Candle

I happen to be a candle lover. I have really liked scented candles for a while and usually have one burning somewhere in my home.

I have tried many brands, some of them from common retailers like Wal-Mart and others that are from specialty stores and boutiques.

I have recently fallen in love with candles from the company “Slatkin and Co”.

When we were on a day trip out of town, we decided to stop by a local mall at the city we were enjoying. We went into Bath and Body Works where they were having a huge sale on many of their items, including these candles from Slatkin and Co.

The place was packed, but I did spend some time in their sniffing every candle in the store.

The large candles from Slatkin and Co are 14.5 oz and usually retail for just under $20 at $19.50. When the sale was going on, these candles were buy 2 for $20. I mean, what a great deal at a buy one get one deal special. They also have half off sales on these as well, where you don’t need to buy 2 in order to get them on sale.

We decided on the scent “Leaves”.

It is just a really nicely packaged candle. It comes in a very sturdy glass jar that is completely round and transparent. The lid is silver and pops on and off. It is a very snug fit though because of the rubber ring inside the lid itself.

There is a label on the front with the company name as well as the fragrance of the candle and a small picture, in this case of a maple leave.

This label can be peeled off if you don’t want anything on the candle jar.

On the bottom of the jar there is some information like how to properly burn the candle and how long it is supposed to last.

This candle should last around 40 hours or more as it says. I do know that this lasts a really long time. We usually burn our candles for at least 2 – 3 hours at a time, and sometimes longer than that. This candle should last a while as long as you let it cool completely before relighting.

Also written on the bottom is what scents make up the fragrance. Leaves is a combination of several things that are thought about when the fall season arrives like apples and cinnamon, but it smells so different than any other candle I have ever smelled.

This is not only a candle for the fall as the smell is so warm and inviting.

When I take off the lid and take a whiff, I smell apple cider and pears along with some spices like found in a pumpkin pie or something. I really like it.

The scent is rather strong, so I would recommend burning this in an open area so the smell can fill up the house.

I would definitely buy this scent again, especially if I can find this on sale.
