Kid’s Art Clock Craft Project

Child's Artwork

This Kid’s Art Picture Frame clock is a fun accent piece that should fit into quite a few different rooms in any home decor. After all, what room isn’t perfect for displaying your kid’s art in new and unusual ways.

This Kid’s Art Picture Frame clock would look great in a little girl’s room, a family room, the basement reck room, or even in a game room. You could also use it on your desk at work.

I love the look of this fun and whimsical way to display your child’ artwork. So, use one of those many empty Picture Frames you have laying around and transform it into a designer Kid’s Art clock.

To Make a Clock Out of a Kid’s Art and a Picture Frame You Will Need:

Now, I always come across great Picture Frames. I even find Picture Frames at the flea market every summer. Each of these would be perfect to make into this simple Kid’s Artwork clock.

Drill a small hole in the middle of the Picture Frame. To do this takes the glass out of the frame. Use a ceramic drill bit to drill through the glass. Now, drill a hole through the cardboard backing.

This will be for your clock kit, so you may want to take a look at that and see if there are any size conditions for this small hole. You don’t have to center the clock face; you could offset it for some visual interest.

Now, put the frame back together, but be sure to put a piece of your Kid’s Art inside. Is a metal skewer or knife to poke a hole in the artwork through the established holes in the glass and cardboard backing.

Now, you are ready to install your clock kit on the Kid’s Art Picture Frame. Follow the direction on the clock kit box. Each kit will be slightly different. I find clock kits at the hardware store, the home improvement store, and almost every single arts and craft store out there. I recommend a clock kit that runs on a battery so that you do not have to have a cord hanging out of the back of the Kid’s Art Picture Frame clock, but that is complexly up to you.

Now, some clock kits will come with numbers, but you may find that they are too big for this Picture Frame project. So, you can use peel and stick numbers to mark the hours. Adhere them to the outside of the glass. You can use any kind of number stickers you find at the arts and craft store. You could also use stickers that fit the theme of the Kid’s Art you put in your Picture Frame.

Pop a battery into your clock kit and you can now hang your Kid’s Art Picture Frame clock on the wall. If you are hanging it in a family game room why not hang it where everyone will see it! This will be a really conversation starter when you have a dinner party!

You could also use this as a nightstand clock if you have a Picture Frame that has an attached stand.
