Juicy Juice VS. Capri Sun

Capri Sun

It is obvious that when your child is thirsty, the best beverage to give them is water. Of course, you are not going to be able to coax your toddler, preschooler, or school age child to drink water all of the time. Some children simply do not enjoy the best source of drink, water. When deciding what kind of beverage other than water to buy for your child, most people choose juice. With all of the hysteria regarding preservatives, food coloring, and sugar, most people do not feel comfortable giving their children products such as HI-C produced by the Minute Maid Company because it contains only 10% of juice. Most consumers are going with trend and are buying foods and drinks that are all natural and that contain either no or very few preservatives, food colorings, and added sugar. Two very popular juice drinks on the market right now are Juicy Juice and Capri Sun.

Juicy Juice is made by the Nestle Corporation and is made with 100% juice with no added sugar, artificial coloring, preservatives, caffeine, gluten, or lactose. The Nestle Corporation also states that all of the nectars and juices are pasteurized to kill any microorganisms that may have been present. If you are looking for a variety, Juicy Juice definitely gives consumers a wide choice of flavors. They do feature typical fruit juice flavors such as Apple, Apple Raspberry, Cherry, Kiwi Strawberry, and Tropical. A wonderful addition to the Juicy Juice family has been their product called Harvest Surprise. This new product appeals to mothers because it is juice with a twist. The Harvest Surprise juice is a combination of fruit and vegetables. You can now gulp down a cold glass of Orange Mango which brings together a nice mix of grape, carrot, apple, mango, orange, and sweet potato. What a delightful combination to create a wonderful source of vitamin intake for those growing children! Juicy Juice sells their products in 46 and 64 ounce plastic bottles, single servings in the 4.23 and 6.75 ounce size, and in non-frozen concentrate cans.

Capri Sun is also made from 100% juice with no added sugar, colors, flavors, caffeine, or preservatives. The Capri Sun Company promotes the fact that their products have added extra antioxidants to their juices. The antioxidants of Vitamin A and C are an excellent way to maintain a healthy immune system. Capri Sun does also offer a wide variety of flavors to enjoy during the hot summer months. The original Capri Sun juice flavors include Surfer Cooler, Lemonade, Tropical Punch, and many others. The Capri Sun 100% Juice products offer flavors such as Grape Tide and Fruit Dive. The Capri Sun Roarin’ Waters is a low calorie drink and includes flavors like Wild Cherry and Grape. The Capri Sun products come in 6.75 ounce single servings as well as 64 ounce family size bottles. An excellent product that Capri Sun has just recently come out with is a portable packet mix. It is a stick that you can conveniently take with you anywhere. You simple dissolve the stick into a 16.9 ounce water bottle and you have a drink on the go.

Although both brands deliver excellent tastes, vitamins, and variety, I usually buy Capri Sun. I like their unique pouches that they are packaged in. When inserting the straw into the pouch, it rarely squirts back out at you. The Juicy Juice boxes tend to squirt out at my children and I dislike when that happens. Unlike Juicy Juice, the Capri Sun juices can be frozen. The company recommends using them as ice packs in lunchboxes to keep sandwiches and salads cold. The Juicy Juice Company says that freezing their product will actually compromise the natural overall goodness and quality of the juice. When looking to purchase either a Juicy Juice product or Capri Sun product, check your local groceries stores. Your child will be sure to love either drink choice.
