Jolaine’s Top 10 80’s Karaoke Songs

Duran Duran, Karaoke, Karaoke Songs, Kokomo, Top Rock Love Songs

My list of songs for Karaoke needed to fit a certain set of rules to make my top favorites. First of all, it had to be a song that I liked, a lot. Next, it has to be something that I know the words to very well. Can’t sing without knowing the words. Well, you can, but it helps to know those words. Next it should be fairly easy to sing because I don’t want to look like a fool more than I do already while singing karaoke.

So without further ado, my top 10 favorite 80’s karaoke songs.

Piano Man by Billy Joel sits at number ten. It is a really great feel good song that has an easy flow making singing pretty easy. Plus you can understand all the words. That is an important fact.

Wild Thing by Tone Luc is resting comfortably at number nine. Now this song is easy to sing and is just too much fun to really mention.

Love is a Battlefield by Pat Benatar is number eight is my count down. If you have ever seen the music video for this high energy song, then you know that once you’ve seen it you will sing it forever. It is such a fun energetic song that it still graces karaoke nights all over.

Now, I think everyone remembers Madonna. So I immediately thought of Madonna’s Like a Virgin for number seven. Like her or not everyone heard of this song. The words are pretty easy to understand and the song has a great flow making it perfect for my list.

So, I placed Thriller by Michael Jackson at number six. My family argued this, but really everyone that loves 80’s music should know all the words. And if you don’t, it is an easy song to pick up in no time flat. Plus, it is just too much fun because you can add some Jackson moves to make your karaoke experience even better!

Every Breath I Take by the Police takes its place at number five. That song is popular still to this day. The words are all over the place, making it easy to sing for every eager karaoke taker.

Duran Duran was big, so I pick Hungry Like the Wolf for the number four spot. Most of Duran Duran’s songs were easy to understand the words and this song was so very popular. I know I could sing this at karaoke night.

Kokomo by the Beach Boys brought them back to popularity in the 80’s. Thus, bringing this song to the number three spot. I remember singing this song over and over. An easy fun song to add some great flavor to karaoke enthusiasts everywhere.

Girls Just Want to Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper takes the number two spot. That song was so easy to pick up. I can sing it in the shower so why not on karaoke days?

Ok, so what song makes the number one karaoke song to sing? That would be Don’t Worry, Be Happy by Bobby McFerrin. That is one of the most wonderful, laid back songs of all time. This should be sung by everyone just because it can really make you Happy.
