JK’s NFL Divisional Round Playoff Picks

Well the first round of the 2012-2013 NFL playoffs are over and I did okay going 3 out of 4 on my picks. Up next, the divisional round where teams can start eyeing the Super Bowl. Here are my picks for the divisional round of NFL Playoffs.

Baltimore Ravens at Denver Broncos

The Broncos got a bye last week as the number one seed in the AFC, while Baltimore beat Indianapolis in the first round. Denver is the hottest team in the NFL and beat Baltimore pretty soundly just a few weeks back in the regular season. I see nothing different here, Denver is rested and Baltimore just played a very emotional game, besides Denver is just the better team. Denver wins 35-17.

Green Bay Packers at San Francisco Fourty-Niners

San Francisco had a bye last week as the number two seed in the NFC while Green Bay beat Minnesota pretty easily in their first round game. All year long the Packers have had problems protecting Aaron Rodgers and I think this is where it comes back to haunt them, San Francisco has a great defense that can get after the quarterback. I like San Francisco in this one 24-20.

Seattle Seahawks at Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta had a bye last week as the number one seed in the NFC, while Seattle had to go on the road to beat Washington in their first round game. Now, Atlanta has looked very good all year putting up points at will and doing enough on defense to win. However, this is the playoffs and Seattle’s defense is superb and their offense is very underrated. I think Seattle contains Atlanta’s great receiving core and wins with their offense 28-24.

Houston Texans at New England Patriots

New England had a bye last week as the number two seed in the AFC, while Houston squeaked out a win against Cincinnati. This is another rematch game that just occurred a few weeks ago where the Patriots crushed the Texans and I see nothing different here, if anything New England has gotten better by getting Gronkowski back, I like New England 42-20.
