When we enrolled our son in the Florida Connections Academy, we were surprised at how much this educational program offered to registered families. We initially received all of the schoolbooks and school supplies that would be required for the year. We received teacher books, student books, crayons, pencils, paints, construction paper, writing tablets, math cubes, craft supplies, and more! At the time, this was an absolute blessing! A little later, they sent my son a desktop personal computer and printer that he could use to do his work on. The Connections Academy does not provide internet service. You are required to purchase that on your own; however, they do reimburse you approximately every three months for a percentage of your internet bill. We have a cable internet connection, and they send me a check for about $54.00 every three months to assist with the fees for that service. This helps a lot!
The Connections Academy holds parents to a high level of accountability, but they are quite flexible as well. Once every two weeks, the official teacher that is in charge of the grade that your student is in will call and check on things. They will inform of the students progress and give you ideas on how to make coaching your children fun and beneficial. They are very tactful and are willing to be available any time that you need them. There is no pressure, no hassle. Everyone is wonderful that you deal with at the Connections Academy.
