Inspirational Bible Verses for Hope

God's Promises

Hope is something we all need in this world. It’s easy to lose sight of it and sometimes it’s hard to hold on to. Reading the Bible can remind us and assure us that there is hope in the world and you can receive hope through our Lord Jesus Christ.


Isaiah 40: 31

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

God promises us hope. It’s important that we not just know about God, but really know God. Have a relationship with Him. When you strengthen your relationship with God, know Him like your best friend, you will have hope all around you.


Lamentations 3: 21-25

Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” the Lord is good to those whose hope is in him to the one who seeks him.

Because God’s compassion never fails us, we have a new start every morning. Things that we have on this earth will not last forever but God will last forever. It is our duty to be patient and wait for our Lord’s salvation. We can be comforted to know that salvation will come!


Micah 7: 7

But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.

God promises to hear our prayers. When we are having difficulties in our lives and don’t know what to do, we should always look to God for answers and pray for grace and strength to trust in Him that He will help us.


Zechariah 9: 12

Return to your fortress, O prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you.

Sinners are prisoners and we are prisoners of hope. Jesus is our strong-hold and keeps us safe. We can take comfort that God is the greatest good and we will be refreshed with blessings.

1 Peter 1:3-4

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or face – kept in heaven for you.

Happy are those whose hearts are set on God’s inheritance. God doesn’t just give grace, He preserves them into glory! Just imagine how short our lives are on this earth. Eternity is forever and God promises that forever will be the most wonderful place you can ever imagine (and more-so!), as long as you love God, believe in God, and follow God’s laws.
