Are you thinking about planning an icicle themed party this winter? Have you already decided on what party favors you’ll be using? If not, you may want to check out a few of my suggestions. Here they are:
Glass Icicles
In my opinion, glass icicles would make perfect party favors for such a theme. After the party, your guests could use the glass icicles as sun catchers or tree ornaments. One company that sells them is Sirius Sunlight Glass Studio. As a matter of fact, the company makes quite a wide assortment of glass icicles. For instance, you could opt to invest in clear icicles or colored icicles that match your party’s overall color scheme. The choice is yours. On average, a dozen glass icicles will cost you $30.
Individual bottles of ice wine customized with commemorative labels would also make wonderful party favors. After all, ice wine is traditionally made from frozen grapes. When making the commemorative labels, I’d suggest using icicle graphics. You can typically find free icicle graphics online. I’d also suggest decorating the tops of the bottles with shimmery ribbons and diminutive bows. Ice wine prices will vary based on the retailer.
Corkcicles
Keeping with the ice wine theme, corkcicles would also make great gifts. Corkcicles are wine stoppers fashioned to look like icicles. They are typically 12 inches long, clear in color and are topped off with a cork. Oftentimes, you can purchase the Corkcicles through specialty retailers for $23 each. One store that sells the Corkcicles is Uncommon Goods. If you do decide to go with the Corkcicles, I’d suggest trying to buy them in bulk for a reduced price.
Icicle Candy
Would you rather hand out a non-alcoholic, edible treat? If so, you may want to think about giving your guests a container of peppermint icicles. In my experience, peppermint icicles are easy and inexpensive to make. They are traditionally made from peppermint extract, corn syrup, food coloring and granulated sugar. Should you be interested in giving it a try, there is a recipe available on Martha Stewart’s website. You may also want to think about packaging the candies inside icicle favor boxes. Icicle favor boxes are available through packaging and specialty stores like Laurel Ink.
Icicle Keepsake Boxes
Last but not least, you may want to think about giving your guests Icicle Keepsake Boxes. The ones that I am familiar with are made from wood and are outfitted with a photo of icicles. In general, each one will cost you $30. Of course you could always opt to make your own keepsake boxes. In order to make your own icicle themed boxes, you’ll need a few craft supplies. Items include decoupage glue, unfinished boxes, wood stain, foam paint brushes and photos of icicles.
