I Put Woolite Dry Cleaner’s Secret to the Test

Woolite

I used to buy this type of product and put items into a bag.

Woolite Dry Cleaner’s Secret doesn’t use a bag – it is so easy to use!

The intended use is to freshen my clothing and remove small spots on items that you don’t want to take to the cleaners. For example if I buy something that says “Dry clean only” and I paid $5.00 for it at a consignment store I am not going to spend money to get it dry cleaned.

Recently I bought a black suede jacket for $20 at a consignment store. As soon as I took it home I smelled cigarette smoke, which I am allergic too. I thought about taking it to the dry cleaners especially when I read on the Woolite Dry Cleaner’s Secret pack “DO NOT use this product on fur, leather, suede or velvet.

I have used Woolite Dry Cleaner’s Secret with great success but never on suede. I paid under $10.00 for six packs. Inside each pack is a cleaning cloth. The first thing I have done on other items is to remove visible spots by spot cleaning with the cloth. I put up to four items in the dryer, which is the maximum amount. They should be of similar fabric, weight and color.

The cloth goes in with the items. I put my dryer on medium for 20 minutes and then take out my garments. Good as new. But what about suede??

If this were a $200.00 coat I would not have done this but I followed the directions as I have done in the past. After the first 20 minutes I took out the coat and it hadn’t shrunk so I put it in for another few minutes with Woolite Dry Cleaner’s Secret.

My coat does not smell like smoke! I love using Woolite Dry Cleaner’s Secret for items like a silk sweater for which I didn’t pay a lot of money. For me this has been a very convenient way to save money by not having my items dry cleaned.
