How to Send 1 GB File Through Email

There is no email service allow you to send 1 GB file through email. You need a software to send such a large file through email. Pando is free software that allows you to attach file up to 1 GB.

Pando is very easy to be operated. You do not need to create a new email account, just use your own email address. The attached file will show up as a web. Users will have to determine if they want to download the file.

Pando has a very fast uploading and downloading rate. Besides, this program has many great features. It has antivirus software to scan the attached files. Pando also encrypts and zips the file as *.pando files when you upload; and then decrypts files when you download to protect your personal information. This program will delete the uploaded email automatically after sent to save space of your mailbox.

Pando is about 2 MB. You can download the program free here. After downloading, click Pando_Beta_Setup.exe to start installing. To use the program, you must have high-speed internet like ADSL and your mailbox must has at least 1 GB free space.

When Pando is operated, click “Send New” to start the process. A new window will appears. You have to put in your email address and the email you want to send to in “From” and “To” blank. Click “Browse” and locate the file you want to send (Remember to hold Ctrl or Shift to pick many files). Name the attached file in Package Name; and also don’t forget to fill out “Subject” and “Message” (Click “Clear” if you want to change your information).

Click send to start uploading process. Pando will scan your files for virus and malware before sending them. When your files is uploading, you can click “Info” to check their information. Also, click “Pause” to break, click “Clear” to stop whole process or click “Forward” to pass on the next email address.

To receive email sent by Pando, you also have to install Pando software. If Pando is not set up in your computer, you will see the warning from your mail browser (Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook…) urges you to download the program. Click “Get Pando Free Here” to obtain Pando. After downloading, run Pando, click “Receive” and choose the attached file you want to download in email. Similar to the sending process, you can click “Pause”, “Info”, “Clear” or “Forward”. As mentioned above, the attached file will have *.Pando extension.

You should also click “Options” to use Pando more effectively. The options feature will have different tabs:

My Profile: allows you to put in your full name and email address. Mark “Start Pando when I start Windows” to operate Pando automatically when you turn on the computer.

Storage: locate where you want to save you file at “Download Pando packages to this folder by default”. You can also click “Clear received items” and “Clear sent items”.

Transfers: in sending section, you can limit the uploading speed by clicking “Limit upload speeds to” and type in the speed (the unit is KB per second). The default is 40 KB per second; you can set it up to 10,000 KB per second. You can also mark or unmark “Start downloads automatically when I open .pando files” and “Scan files for viruses”.

Besides, click “Advanced Connection Settings” to have more advance options like “For incoming connections use port”, “Alternatively use ports”, “Use uPnP port forwarding if available”… You can also change proxy settings by clicking “Proxy Configuration”. Mark the options you want include “Do not use proxy”, “Use IE settings”, “Https”…
