How to Make Devil’s Horns

If you need a quick and cheap Halloween costume, you can always make devil’s horns. You don’t need many items at all.

You will need the following items:

A plastic headband

Two 2″4″ rectangles or red construction paper

A red pen or pencil

Tape or a hot glue gun

Start by folding the pieces of red construction paper in half so they are now 2″x2″ rather than 2″x4.

Now, stack the pieces of paper so the folds are on the same side and the open surfaces are on the same side. Tap them against a flat surface so they are at the same level on all sides.

Lay the pieces of paper down and pick up your pen or your pencil. Draw a devil’s horn design on the top piece of paper while you hold the other under it, making sure that the pointy tip of the horn is pointing towards the open ends of the paper and the wide part is at the fold.

At this next part, remember: NEVER CUT THE FOLD in the interior of your drawing.

Take your scissors and cut out the horn design. Keep the papers stacked on top of each other so you cut out everything at once. Start at the bottom and if the bottom is not all the way to the edge, cut it on the fold outside, but if not, cut your outline of a devil’s horn starting from the side, going up to the tip, and coming down from the bottom.

After you are finished cutting, you should have two folded devil’s horns. Do not cut or tear any more. You are completely finished using the scissors at this point.

Unstack the papers and unfold each of the devil’s horns. Place each devil’s horn under the headband just where you’d want each horn to be when you wear the headband, making sure the fold is under the bottom.

Now, take the tape and fold each of the horns together. You can easily undo these horns and have a headband to wear. You can also hot glue the paper to the headband, but this will make it a more permanent thing than simply using the tape inside of the horns. It is your decision when you make devil’s horns if you’d rather have ones that keep longer or if they are just for a day or night of Halloween fun.

However, now you know how to make devil’s horns so you’ll never be the completely dull person at a Halloween event!
