How to Maintain a Bob Hair Cut

Fuller Hair, Leave in Conditioner, Volumizing Shampoo, Washing Hair

For many women hair can be the pinnacle of having a great day or a disastrous one. It’s not only a sense of style but in many cases a sense of security. Women wear it long because it is easy to pull back, or short for the ease of wash and go. Regardless, there is still everyday maintenance that comes along with any hair style, even the bob cut. Bob cuts can be as short as ear length and as far down as your shoulders. Although this cut has been around for ages it too must have some TLC. Here are some tips to keep your bob looking sharp and stylish.

The trick to maintaining the modern-cut bob is to keep the scalp well moisturized and to massage the scalp even when you don’t wash it. Placing the hair in small pieces in rollers and let nearly dry before removing the rollers. After, blow dry the hair on very low heat and flat iron the bangs. Rollers and low-heat add body to a sleek look.

A fuller bob can be achieved by using both a flat and curling iron. Use a flat iron to smooth hair from the roots to make hair straight and adding a texture cream beforehand will make the hair shiny. After, use the curling iron for the ends of the bob to create volume and to add different texture to hair.

Bobs with curly hair can be maintained by adding a good leave-in-conditioner since curly hair draws in moisture. Use leave-in-conditioner, towel dry hair and use a detangling comb from the ends up to the roots. Blow drying it partially with a diffuser can set the curls in the style you like.

Bone straight bobs can be styled by using a good flat iron. After washing hair use a deep conditioner with replenishing oils. Blow dry hair in small pieces or by layers and use the blow dryer at an angle from the root down. Once the hair is dry use a flat iron to get the hair very straight.

The traditional bob with fine hair can be created into a fuller hair style. Use a volumizing shampoo with a very light conditioner that will not weight down hair. Once it is dry add some texturing paste into the ends of the hair. Twist pieces of the bob to create a rumpled, sexier quality.

Besides the every day maintenance of keeping your bob in great shape, your cut is the most important place to start. It’s often heard that bangs should be eye skimming; not eye covering because these are two very different looks. Depending on the individual hair growth a maintenance cut will be necessary every six to eight weeks. Luckily, a bob can be worn curly, straight, split down the middle or side and can be styled to suit each individuals preference.
