How to Get Your Own T.V. Show

Having your own T.V. show is what a lot of people dream of. Whether it’s a chat show, a sitcom, or a documentary, you don’t only get to enjoy making the program, but also, you get to enjoy the glitz and glamor of the celebrity lifestyle; award ceremonies, the red carpet, signing autographs and people wanting to catch a glimpse of you. Whatever your reason for wanting to get your own T.V. show, here are a few great ways to ensure you can be seen on the television screen.

1. Brainstorm: Before you do anything else, you have got to decide on a few very important factors. First of all, what type of T.V show do you want to get. For example, it could be a chat show, a sitcom, a soap opera, or maybe a documentary. There are many more to choose from obviously, but these are just a few examples. Also, try to vision your T.V. show. One of the most important parts of creating your own T.V show, is imaging what it will look like, and what sort of feel it will give. Is it to be an evening show, a night time show, or possibly even a show to watch with your lunch. Whatever one you choose, make sure it gives of the correct feel.

2. Brainstorm some more: The next step of course would be to start writing your script. But, before you do that, you need to think of a structure for your show. For example, if you choose a chat show, you will need to decide what interviews go where and if you want to put anything in between, etc. And if you choose a sitcom, you will need to decide what characters there are, and what sort of story lines they behold.

3. Write your script: Now that you’ve finished brainstorming, you can now write your pilot episode (the first show) for your own T.V show. Remember to include the title, the authors, the characters list, the scenes (where it happens e.g. pub, coffee shop, kitchen etc. and the time e.g morning, evening, night etc.) and your address. Also, remember to read your script again thoroughly to check for spelling mistakes and punctuation mistakes. You want to make a good first impression!

4.Send of your script: Now that you’ve finished writing your own T.V show, you can now send it off to your chosen T.V channel. If you go to their website, at the bottom of the page you should find a ‘contact us’ link. This should be where you can find the information on where to send your script.

5. Wait for response: Now that you’ve sent off the scrip for your T.V show, you should now receive a letter telling you whether or not they’d like to meet you to discuss the program. If so, it is likely they will like to make a few changes. After that, you should begin to start making your own T.V show!

Now it’s up to you to get your show on the T.V. It will take hard work and determination, but you will get their in the end. Hope to see you on the T.V soon! Good Luck!
