With the Polaris 360 pool cleaner, your pool stays clean without a whole lot of help from you. However, the Polaris 360 pool cleaner itself needs to be maintained. If your pool starts to show signs of being insufficiently cleaned, something may need to be done about the Polaris 360 pool cleaner. You don’t need a professional, though, because there are some simple things you can do to find the problem.
The Polaris 360 pool cleaner may stop moving, and you may see that there isn’t enough water pressure at the cleaner. In this case, find out if the booster is functioning properly and the main pool filter isn’t dirty. If the main filter isn’t clean, this may be slowing water flow to the booster, and thus keeping the pool cleaner from working the way it should. Clean the filter and see if that fixes the problem.
There are also a pump basket and a skimmer basket that you can check. The filter screen may also be clogged. Without the filter screen, or even if it’s just damaged, debris can clog the inner tubing of the pool sweep. Damaged filter screens require that you take apart the Polaris 360 pool cleaner and clear the lines. Make sure the connections for the swivel and hose don’t have pressure leaks.
There’s also the possibility that the water pressure is fine, but the Polaris 360 pool cleaner is still not moving. A wheel on the Polaris 360 pool cleaner may need replacement. If worn down, the wheels won’t engage, thus impeding the function of the Polaris 360 pool cleaner. Or, the problem could be the backup valve, which, when it stops working, can cause the internal gears to break or get worn out. One other possibility is an object, like a pool toy, caught in the Polaris 360 pool cleaner.
The RPMs on the pressure relief valve need to be adjusted if the Polaris 360 pool cleaner whirs so fast it doesn’t touch the bottom of the pool. Reduce the water flow by installing restrictor disks on the wall fitting of the Polaris 360 pool cleaner.
Polaris 360 pool cleaners sometimes tilt to the side while they’re running, and you should check and see if the cleaner bag has filled up. If so, empty it. The head float could have also been damaged and filled with water. Take the head float off and shake out the water.
One last problem you may encounter with Polaris 360 pool cleaners is that the feed hose gets tangled. Make sure your hose is the correct length, indicated by the fact that it comes within six inches of the furthest wall of the pool. If it’s too long, shorten it. Short hoses should be replaced. Make sure the feed hose floats.
Many times having time-saving devices like the Polaris 360 pool cleaner cause more problems than it seems like they’re worth. This is simply because the more parts a machine has, the more it has to get broken. However, fixes it is not as hard as it might seem, and checking out a few possible problems yourself instead of calling a professional will save you money.
