Buffets, Candy Buffet, Color Palette

If you are planning a wedding then you need to learn more about a new trend for wedding receptions. Instead of offering guests at your reception traditional wedding favors, many couples are setting up wedding candy buffets. These buffets offer a collection of beautiful candies that the guests can select from and snack on during your wedding reception. If you are interested in adding a candy buffet to your wedding reception then this is what you will need to do.

Step #1 – Select a Color Palette for Your Candy Buffet

In order to coordinate your candy buffet with the décor of your wedding reception you need to select a color palette. This color palette can be a single color that compliments your wedding décor or you can select a multi-colored palette. However, regardless if you want a monochromatic candy buffet, such as an all pink candy buffet, or a multi-colored candy buffet, you will want to select one main color as your base. This base color will be used for the table coverings, the candy dishes and the candy bags.

Step #2 – Create a Candy Menu

The next step is to create a candy menu. This menu will need to include items from the main types of candy. For example, you will want to select chocolate candies, hard candies, chewy candies and ethnic candies. If you need help finding items for your candy buffet then you can visit a candy shop, a chocolate shop or you can even find candy vendors online that offer nostalgic and hard to find ethnic candies.

Step #3 – Select Candy Servers

To keep your candy buffet sanitary you will need to figure out how the candy will be dispersed to your guests. Most candy buffets lay out the candies on decorative plates. Each candy is either individually wrapped or offered up in a paper cup. This helps to cut down on the handling of the candy by guests. If you are serving bulk candy then consider buying plastic scoops to serve up the smaller bulk candies. If you will be serving a lot of bulk candies that are not wrapped, then you can also help improve the health standards of your candy buffet by having one or two servers work the candy buffet. They can put together a candy mix for each guest.

Step #4 – Take Home Bags

Another option that you have is to premix your wedding candy buffet candies in decorative bags. These bags can be given to the guests as a wedding favor. If you want your guests to be able to select the candies that they want then you can allow them to mix their own candy bags at the candy buffet.

Step #5 – Table Top Candy Buffets

The final option that you have is to provide each table with its own candy buffet. This is a practical option for smaller weddings. You can top a Lazy Susan with a selection of candies. In the center of the Lazy Susan you can provide your guests with candy bags, ribbons and name tags.
