Light

This plant needs to be in bright light in order to gives its best appearance. It shouldn’t be kept in direct sunlight though. A bright room in the house is suggested. You can keep it in an area that is partially shaded. Be sure to keep it out of a fully shaded area as it will lose its true green coloring in those areas. In fact, the leaves will have a tendency turn yellow in dark areas.

Water

Keep the fern well watered. Be sure not to overwater it. You should also allow the soil to become completely dry before you water it again. That does not mean to forget about it forever. You must be sure to keep a close eye on it to ensure that it gets enough water when it does need it.

Food

Give this plant a liquid fertilizer in the summer. There is no need for a great amount of care for this plant. It is easily maintained and is not susceptible to pests. You will not need to worry too often about feeding the Asparagus Fern.

Temperature

It is wise to keep this plant in an area that doesn’t get overly hot. The best temperature for the plant is cool to warm. It will bloom in the summer months with a white flower.

This plant can get rather large. It is great for hanging baskets as it cascades over it. It can also be used outdoors. If you choose to do this, you may find that it can overtake your other plants in the garden. Plant it someplace that has good room for growth and where it won’t interfere with the growth of the others. Once it begins to grow it will be very hard to manage. You will need to keep it trimmed regularly in order to keep it from get unmanageable.

This is a poisonous plant. Keep it away from small children and animals. If ingested, it will cause serious health issues. This is another great reason to use it in a hanging basket rather than a floor plant.

This is a beautiful plant that doesn’t need a lot of care. You don’t need a green thumb to grow it. Taking good care to keep it trimmed will ensure that it doesn’t get out of control thus becoming a burden to you rather than supply you with the beauty that you are seeking.
