Hollywood Boulevard Hair Salon – Mastic, New York

Hair Salons, Hollywood Boulevard, Mastic

I have discovered a great local hair salon. It is called Hollywood Boulevard Hair Salon in Mastic, New York. Their phone number is 631-281-7827. They are located at 1130 Montauk Hwy in Mastic, NY 11950. I have been to numerous hair salons, too many to count and haven’t been as pleased as I have been with Hollywood Boulevard.

I used to go to one of those fancy, extremely rich clientele type hair salons. I really loved my girl who cut my hair but I never felt comfortable while I was there. It was one of those salon and spa combination type places. I always felt under dressed when I went to get hair cut. Who wants to get a haircut in high heels and a full face of make-up? I also never liked the fact that I would have different people coloring my hair. I never knew what to expect when I was done. When I moved out east, I decided to stop going to my previous hair salon and try a new local one.

A friend of mine suggested I try Hollywood Boulevard. The name of her girl is Rachel. I went for the first time over the summer and couldn’t have been more please. First of all, as soon as you walk in you can feel at ease. Nobody is wearing high heels and fully done up. Everyone is dressed casually. You feel so comfortable there. They took me right away to get my hair washed. The décor of the salon is all Hollywood Artifacts. I guess the owner knows some celebrities. There are pictures all over the walls of old Hollywood and new Hollywood.

The girl did a great job washing my hair. She didn’t get soap in my eyes or water in my ears. Then Rachel came and got me. We had a consultation first and I explained what I wanted done with my hair. She made some suggestions and we mutually agreed that she would cut long layers into my hair. I have very thick and curly hair and there isn’t much I can do with it. I can’t cut it short or have any new fancy hairstyle. The long layers will help my hair have some style to it without it frizzing out.

Then we had a consultation about what hair color I wanted. I have a few grey hairs that I need to cover but here again I have another problem. I have very dark hair and there isn’t much you can do with it. I can’t go lighter or else my hair will turn orange (I found that out the hard way). We discussed putting some red in it and bring out some of my natural highlights.

It turns out that Rachel did everything. First, she did my color and then she did my cut. It was so nice to have the same person working on me, instead of being walked all around the salon from person to person. I was always embarrassed when I had to do that. She did a great job on my color. I didn’t have red dye all over my ears and my forehead. She took her time and wasn’t rushed. She also did a great job with my cut. I didn’t feel like she chopped my hair off. She cut beautiful long layers that made my hair finally have a style to it.

Everyone in the salon was son friendly. The prices couldn’t be beat. I have been known to spend $60 and up on a cut. Rachel only charged me $35 for a cut and blow. The coloring was only $30. I think that depends on what process you get. Single process costs much less than double process. They took cash or a major credit card.

I was so pleased with my experience at Hollywood Boulevard that I have already been back again. I had the same wonderful experience the second time I went too. I am officially making Hollywood Boulevard in Mastic my new hair salon. I highly recommend them.
