Holiday Gift Ideas for a Fairy Fanatic

Fairies are a huge pop icon these days. Fairy paraphernalia can be found everywhere you turn. The fairies themselves range from cute baby-like fairies, to exotic, beautiful woman fairies. If you look hard enough, you can even find a male fairy or two.

No matter what the fairy preference, you are bound to have a fairy lover on holiday shopping list. Though the fairy items that exist are endless, here are my top ten picks for stylish, beautiful fairy inspired gifts for the fairy lover in your life.

Lady Cottington’s Pressed Fairy Collection
This book series is written by Terry Jones, and illustrated by Brian Fround, and is a must have for any fairy lover with a sense of humor. Following the adventures of Lady Cottington from childhood to adulthood, the story centers around the fairies Lady Cottington manages to squash within the pages of her journal. Now, Lady Cottington reassures the reader that the images are merely “psychic impression” and most of the fairies weren’t actually harmed.

While the story is cute, and engaging, it’s the artwork that is the prime focus of this book. Brian Fround’s beautifully rendered “squashed” images of fairies are ridiculous, somewhat obscene, but always exquisitely detailed and fun. The books are beautiful in their presentation as well and make a great collectors item.

Amy Brown Car Accessories
The artist Amy Brown has been a huge factor in the popularity of fairies today. Her fairy images can be found on anything, from jewelry to beach towels. However, the items that are most unique from her collection of work is the car accessory line.

This watch from the Big Tic Collection from Fossil is both fun and attractive. The fairy image on the watch is animated, making the fairy’s green wings flutter in and out. A button on the watch also allows the wearer to freeze the image as desired. At $65 this watch is pricey, but well constructed. The watch comes in a collectable tin, is water resistant, and has an 11 warrantee, making the price well worth it.

Perfume Bottle
The fairy topped perfume bottle from Treasured Finds is a cobalt blue frosted glass, with pewter scrollwork. It measures 2 by 3.75 inches, and is empty and waiting to be filled with a favorite fragrance. This delicate little keepsake would look great on a nightstand or with bathroom toiletries. http://www.treasuredfinds.com/p.asp?p=2183&i;=81
