While many women often use hair straighteners, those of us who have thick curly hair know that we cannot just use some regular hair straightener. Nope, we have to use what I like to call a ‘heavy duty’ hair straightener. Here is a quick run through of the key pro and con aspects of this straightener.
PROS
This hair straightener has many great features including most importantly its 2 inch plates. These wide plates allow a good amount of hair to be straightened at one time, thus saving a lot of time straightening hair. Another positive that this straightener provides is its instant heat up ability. With a 30 second heat up, you do not have to sit and wait for this straightener to get hot like you would with other straighteners. Finally the automatic turn-off safety feature that this straightener has is extremely important in maintaining safe use of this product.
CONS
Unfortunately this Conair Professional Ceramic Straightener does not work on wet hair. Therefore you cannot use this straightener to straightener your hair right out of the shower. This is by far the biggest disadvantage of using this straightener.

I personally give this Conair Professional Ceramic Straightener 4 stars out of a possible 5. This rating is because it is not a wet/dry hair straightener, meaning you cannot use this straightener to straighten your hair right out of the shower, you can only straighten dry hair. Otherwise the amount of heat that is provided from this straightener is perfect, and the widths of the plates really are helpful in straightening thick and curly hair. I recommend this Conair Professional Ceramic Straightener to anyone with especially thick hair. This straightener really does save you a good amount of time by having these extra wide ceramic plates!
