‘Guitar Hero’ to Be Discontinued

Guitar Hero 2, Guitar Tips

Millions of “Guitar Hero” fans will be saddened to learn that their favorite video game will be discontinued. According to newsok.com, “the company behind ‘Guitar Hero’ said Wednesday that it is pulling the plug on one of the most influential video titles of the new century. Activision Blizzard Inc., which also produces the ‘Call of Duty’ series, is ending the ‘Guitar Hero’ franchise after a run of nearly six years.” The news is sure to sadden many “Guitar Hero” users who would have wanted newer versions of the game to be released down the road.

Fond Memories of Playing “Guitar Hero”

I have many great memories of playing “Guitar Hero.” I remember when the game first came out. My sister and I were intrigued by it. We love music and had not seen a game that was as interactive and fun as this was.

My favorite game of the “Guitar Hero” series is “Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock.” Three songs the game has that I loved playing were “Slow Ride,” “School’s Out” and “One.” These are classic rock songs that make you get up and move, which really makes the game so much fun.

What makes the game so fun is that everyone deep down wants to be a rock star and get on the stage and perform in front of a screaming crowd. I loved being able to pretend that I was a rock star playing my favorite songs with my guitar on stage.

Getting to the “Pro Mode” was very difficult for me. It was very hard to be able to play the guitar well because my fingers are not that long and it caused issues for me. Luckily, the “Pro Mode” has trainers in it. This allowed me to practice a lot so I could better my guitar playing skills.

In terms of achievements, some of the hardest ones for me to earn were getting one million on a single song, completing the “Wicked Awesome Tour,” and getting five stars on the easy guitar setting. I loved being able to make my own avatar for when I played the game. The game has great graphics and the knowledge attained in the game can actually help people learn how to play an instrument in real life. Many kids no longer want to take music lessons because they want to watch TV or play video games all day long. By combining video games and musical instruments, “Guitar Hero” helped get kids up and moving while also finding a deep love of music.
