Disney movies in 2007 brought us plenty of animated classics and created a new following for the Chronicles of Narnia. 2008 offers a few more exciting movies that may reach blockbuster status on opening date. If you’re Disney movie fan at heart and can’t wait for the next release, put your anticipation and anxiety to rest; here’s what Disney has in store for us in 2008:

Disney Movie: The Chronicles of Narnia 2-Prince Caspian
Release date: May 16, 2008
Head off to the land of Narnia with the Pevensie children as they try to restore Prince Caspian to the throne. The Chronicles of Narnia series is a popular story for all ages, and you can read the book before heading off to the theaters this spring. Watch the Chronicles of Narnia 2 trailer for a sneak peak of the action.

Disney Movie: WALL-E
In Theaters: June 27, 2008
This animated movie is directed by Andrew Stanton, the director of Finding Nemo, and brings us WALL-E, a robot who was programmed to clean up Earth and nothing more. He soon falls in love with a robot from a probe, and begins on a journey to pursue his dreams. Watch the WALL-E theatrical trailer for a preview.

Disney Movie: Field Trip
Release date: TBD
Kevin James, the star of ‘King of Queens’, will take on the role of a substitute teacher who’s coordinating a field trip for an out-of-control sixth grade class. We ride along to watch his mishaps and challenges as he tries to keep things under control.

Disney Movie: Bolt 3D
Opening Date: November 26, 2008
Bolt will be one of Disney’s newest animated movies that takes us on a journey with a dog who thinks he has superpowers. He finds himself abandoned in a trailer after a series playing a TV star dog; at this turning point in his life, he starts to make some friends and soon realizes his superpowers aren’t real at all. This is one of Disney’s first set of 3D movies for the year, and will be released right around the holidays—a great family pick!

Disney Movie: First Man
Opening date: TBD
Robert DeNiro and Meryl Streep star in this drama/comedy that will show us how far a husband will go to manage his wife’s presidential campaign. The movie is still in production, and limited information is available on its release date.

Other Disney movies in the works include Walt Disney’s Rapunzel in 2009, an amazingly crafted animated story that looks like Disney’s traditional hand-drawn animation. Toy Story 3 is due for release in 2010, and will let us join Buzz Lightyear and the crew on their next adventure.
