Good Ring Bearer Gifts

Ring Bearer

Ring bearers are always a cute part of a wedding party. There is a little boy dressed in a tux walking down the aisle probably very carefully to avoid dropping the rings. While saying thank you to the boy you choose to be your ring bearer is all well and good, you may also want to buy him a gift to let him know how appreciate him helping out on your big day. Here are a couple of suggestions for the ring bearer in your life.

Football Jersey–the great thing about this is that you can get any teams jersey for your ring bearer, whether it is college or pro. As an added bonus you can also get their name on the back so it is really their jersey and a number that is special to them for some reason (for example if they are the second child you can put the number “2”). Most boys will like this because most boys are big football fans; plus if the jersey is Dad’s favorite team as well, you are contributing to matching Dad/Son football watchin’ time!! You can usually find jerseys at any sports store.

Picture Frame–there are frames out there that say things like “Ring bearer” that you can put a picture of your ring bearer in, as well as their name. This can go in their room or in the common area of the house to show everyone what a big boy and helper the ring bearer was to someone. Plus it’s always a good idea to give a frame so Mom can have some visual proof of her little boy looking like a little man, all dressed up because as most Moms with sons will tell you, that doesn’t happen very often. You can buy the frame at the website listed or at stores like “Things Remembered”.

Piggy Bank–this tends to be a popular gift for kids, be it when they are babies or for first Communion and experiences like that. The reason this is good is because it gives the kids a nice place to save money for themselves giving them a sense of accomplishment and responsibility (surely you remember checking your own piggy bank every couple of weeks and shaking it just to hear all the money you have saved on your own). There are also different types of piggy banks you can get for ring bearers; the web is full of different banks shaped like bears, trains, and footballs just for ring bearer.

Harmonica–this is a cute idea. A little harmonica for a boy to play on (plus as a bonus it will keep him entertained at the reception for awhile). You can get them where the name is engraved on it so it is really their harmonica. Most little boys will enjoy the chance to make music (or noise) and before you scoff remember; Stevie Wonder started out playing the harmonica and look where he is now.

Baseball Bat Pen–the reasons I like this is because it is not overly fancy; if the child is in school they can use it in an everyday aspect plus it is something that they can keep and use for a long time. You can get it with their name on it so once again it is something that belongs to them. Plus it is just a cute idea.

Train Name Tag–this gift can go in their rooms and proclaims their name fashioned in a train set. This is a good idea because most boys like trains and this will be a good addition to the decor of their room. They can put it on a nightstand or a dresser and as they get older even a desk as it is kind of item that is a keepsake and as such can be kept for a long, long tie.

T-Shirt–you can’t go wrong with a T-shirt that says their name and their title. It is something that they can wear for rehearsals, for reception (if your ring bearer chooses to not wear their tux for very long after the actual wedding which, let’s admit is a very real possibility), and then for comfortable wear around the house. This is always a good idea for a gift.

Dog tags–it’s probably the whole GI Joe factor of it but guys love dog tags no matter what age. So go ahead and think about giving your ring bearer his very own set of dog tags that are just for him. You can put the name, title of ring bearer, and the date on this gift so he will always remember the day he had such a big job to do. Plus it is a gift that is really boy friendly so that is always a perk.

DS Case–chances are your ring bearer has a DS as it is one of the most popular hand held personal game systems right now. Why not give them something so they can carry their DS around in style? An added bonus to this is that it will help them keep up with their DS and can travel with a few of their games which is bound to make the parents happy because they don’ hear “Mom, have you seen my DS?” constantly.

Bookmarks–this would be a great idea if your ring bearer is a little bookworm. You can give them a bookmark with their name and initial on it so they will always have something to save their spot in what they are reading. These are durable metal bookmarks that come in two color schemes (though might suggest the yellow and aqua blue for your ring bearer as it is the less feminine of the two choices).
