Gargi’s Italian restaurant is located at 1414 North Orange Avenue and the hours of operations of the place are from Monday through Thursday from 11:30 A.M to 10:00 P.M, Friday from 5:00 P.M to 11:00 P.M , Saturday from 12:00 P.M to 11:00 P.M and Sunday from 3:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M. The restaurants décor is very elegant and resembles a lot of the art and architecture of Tuscany, but the place is at the same time not pretentious and the service is very friendly making you feel at ease even though the prices are a little high.

For appetizers you can go with the fried mozzarella which is cheese rolled in Italian bread crumbs and fried to a golden brown served with a side of Marinara sauce for $9.95, or the escargot over garlic crostini for $12.95, or the hot antipasto which includes eggplant, fried calamari, mussels, baked clams and stuffed mushroom for $17.95, or even the antipasto misto (mixed appetizer) which has prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, grilled zucchini, marinated artichoke hearts, fresh roasted peppers, Kalamata olives and a fresh tomato salad, drizzled with virgin olive oil for $12.60.

For the lighter section of the menu such as the salads you can order the insalata del cucco which is mixed green salad with turkey, provolone cheese for $8.50, or the mozzarella caprese platter which is sliced tomato with fresh mozzarella and basil, drizzled with olive oil dressing for $9.25.

For their pasta section you can order the ravioli funghetto which is cheese ravioli sautéed with porcini mushrooms and cream for $11.25 but is served only for lunch, and for dinner you can choose between the penne alla vodka which is pasta with sautéed garlic and prosciutto in a light vodka sauce for $15.95, or the fettuccine alla Nonna which is served fresh peas and prosciutto in a light cream sauce for $17.50, or just the simple gnocchi Milanese for $15.50.

For the baked pastas you can order the lasagna for $15.50, the manicotti which are pasta squares rolled and filled with ricotta cheese, topped with tomato sauce and parmesan cheese for $14.95, or even the eggplant alla parmigiana which is fresh eggplant, mozzarella cheese, ground meat and topped with a house sauce for $15.95.

And if you want to you can order a cocktail to savor with these plates such as the Gargi’s martini which is with triple sec, cranberry juice and with sweet and sour, or the Luis Martini which has apple schnapps or even the Ivanhoe sunset martini which has orange juice, peach schnapps and grenadine for $7.99.
