Besides furniture, you can also find small appliances, electronics, and especially lamps and vacuum cleaners. You might assume that, since these items are being thrown out in the trash, they are all broken. This is simply not true. Many people throw out small televisions when they buy a new one, or discard lamps when the switch ceases to work. Small televisions can fetch at least twenty dollars, and an old lamp is easily repaired with a switch kit that costs less than five dollars.
There are many items that you can sell for a profit to be found in the garbage. The general rule of garbage picking for cash is to search in the more affluent neighborhoods. Also, you must remember to not be obnoxious or make a mess. Getting cash for other people’s trash is an easy way to make some money.
