Bair Foundation

One reputable, nationwide foster care agency is the Bair Foundation. They have 15 offices located in Texas including Abilene, Lubbock, San Antonio, Waco and Houston. Children’s Home of Lubbock

If you are a Christian family living within 60 miles of Lubbock, consider applying though the Children’s Home of Lubbock. They serve approximately fifty children of all ages in private foster care. Family Link

A third private foster care agency is Family Link. They serve families in Austin, San Antonio, Houston and surrounding areas. Christian Homes and Family Services

Christian Homes and Family Services needs foster parents within a 75 mile radius of Abilene or Tyler. As with all foster care agencies, you are provided with a monthly stipend and expenses to pay for food, clothing and more. Homes 4 Good

Homes 4 Good is based out of Conroe and Bryan, but serves the state of Texas. They need both foster and adoptive families. All training is provided in Conroe or Bryan. DFPS

If you would prefer to not foster though a private agency, you have the option of become a foster parent through DFPS. DFPS stands for Department of Family and Protective Services. They are always needing foster parents for children of all ages. Some receive foster children at birth, and adopt them at about eighteen months when they are eligible for adoption.
