Former WWE Wrestler Booker T Should Join the TNA Roster

Samoa Joe

After being unhappy for several months Booker T, also known as King Booker, has finally come to terms with the WWE for his release from the company.

Ever since TNA wrestling began wrestling fans expect every top wrestler that leaves the WWE to head to TNA instead. TNA is the second largest wrestling company in the United States. TNA won’t get a wrestler as much exposure as the WWE or pay as much as the WWE but TNA can offer a much more casual schedule with very little travel involved.

Unfortunately it has gotten to the point where TNA fans don’t want WWE castaways to go to TNA. TNA fans were happy when top stars like Christian Cage and Kurt Angle joined the WWE but other former WWE talents like Test, Junior Fatu and Black Reign have just been a waste of TNA’s money and their screen time has taken away from better younger talent.

Booker T is a different story though. Booker T would be a great addition to the TNA roster.

First of all Booker T is a lot more talented then most of the bad WWE castoffs like Billy Gunn, Road Dogg, Junior Fatu, and Black Reign. Booker T is getting up there in age but he’s still closer to the level of talent as Kurt Angle and Christian Cage.

Another complaint about WWE talent going to TNA is that it doesn’t look good for TNA to get wrestlers that couldn’t cut it in the WWE and were fired. Even though a wrestler like Rhino was pretty good some fans might think that he’s in TNA because he couldn’t cut it in the WWE. This isn’t the case with Booker T. Booker T is leaving the WWE on his own terms because he is unhappy there. Booker T isn’t leaving because he wasn’t good enough to stay in the WWE.

A lot of Booker T fans will also object to him going to TNA. Every fan wants their favorite wrestler to be booked well in whatever wrestling company they are in and most people feel that TNA will not book Booker T very well. But when did the WWE ever book Booker T well? The WWE teamed Booker T with Goldust. It seemed like a horrible idea but Booker T made it work. Booker T as King Booker was a lousy idea but Booker T made it work. Booker T even survived his G. I. Bro gimmick in WCW.

I doubt TNA will book Booker T well too but Booker T is so entertaining that he makes everything work. He’s a lot like Christian Cage in TNA. TNA’s booking has been awful for months but Christian Cage continues to have great interviews and matches anyway.

Let’s also not forget that the current booker in TNA, Vince Russo, is willing to push Booker T. Booker T first became a main eventer in WCW when Vince Russo was booking and Booker T has been a main eventer ever since.

Some might say that one more main eventer is bad because younger stars like AJ Styles and Samoa Joe will have one more person ahead of them. But at this point we might as well accept the fact that the young talent will probably never be pushed the way we want. So what’s better for the main event? Somebody that Russo is willing to push and the fans don’t like or somebody that Russo is willing to push and the fans do like?

Vince Russo will push Booker T and while it might delay Samoa Joe or AJ Styles winning the TNA World Title, it’s better than Sting, Jeff Jarrett or Kurt Angle as TNA World Champion.
