Fixing Your Gift Basket for Your Jewelry Show

Jewelry Shows, Selling Jewelry

I was so excited about fixing my gift basket for my jewelry shows. I wanted to put all kinds of nice and pretty things in my gift basket for my customers to choose from. Some people call these baskets their Treasure Bag or Treasure Basket. Either way it is the same thing. When I first started selling Jewelry I was paying close attention to what other people had in their baskets. They had dollar gifts like candles, photo albums, lotion, etc. Well I decided that I didn’t want to put dollar items in my basket. I wanted to put nicer gifts in my gift basket. But now I was looking to spend more than $5 an item either. Luckily my company offered incentives that we could purchase.

So I bought sunglasses, toe rings, necklaces, and bracelets to put in my gift basket. I was pleased with how my basket looked. I had probably $30 in merchandise in my gift basket. So my parties started. I noticed at some of my parties my stuff got to missing. Little by little my gifts were missing. Finally I was down to barely anything. So guess what I did? I went and bought dollar items.

So this is how I fixed my gift basket for my jewelry shows. I bought a pretty white basket with a handle. Then I took pink tissue paper and placed it in the bottom so that it was coming over the sides. Then I took curly ribbon and tied around the handle. I bought a dollar roll of ribbon and curled it myself. I lined the handle up with ribbon. This made it look real pretty.

Then I started putting my items in it. I add new items each month. I started off with items like Liquid Potpourri, hand lotion, body wash, candles, and cute photo frames. Well I noticed my potpourri was not doing well at all. After a month of shows no one was taking the potpourri as a gift. So I took those out of my gift basket.

I added cute little notepads to my gift basket. These come from dollar general. They were little desktop notepads with different scenery. This was a big hit with the ladies. Then I found CDs for a dollar from dollar general. These went like wild cakes. I bought the nature sounds CDs, relaxing CDs, and romantic CDs. The ladies really enjoyed these CDs. I need to get more of these. Some other gifts I used were address books, organizers, and planners.

If you have a problem with people taking stuff, I recommend you stick with the dollar or two gifts. Sometimes when I do drawings, instead of letting them choose from my gift basket, I give them something like Free Shipping or $5 off of their order.
