Five Home Remedies for Relieving Tooth Pain

Home Remedies for Tooth Pain, Natural Tooth Pain Relief

There are many ways to care for a toothache at home, but what about actual home remedies? Do they exist? There are some home remedies that work on tooth pain, and there are some that are still speculated but not proven. I will be sharing 5 of the home remedies that I have used myself that seemed to have helped the tooth pain that I had until I got my tooth pulled.

When I got my first toothache last year, after the pain pills wore off, I had to find something to kill the pain. I got on the internet and the very first thing that I found was to use clove oil on the tooth. This is also known and eugenol oil. Some people have clove oil in their cupboard so this is actually convenient. It doesn’t matter if its food grade or not, get some of that clove oil on a small cotton ball and if you have a hole in your tooth, attempt to put the cotton inside the hole. If not, then run the oil on the tooth and try not to get it anywhere else. It tastes really nasty but does relieve the pain for a little while.

When I got tired of the clove oil, I called my mom and she told me to try something else from my cupboard. Vegetable Oil. Take a spoon full of oil and swish it around in your mouth until you spit out foamy stuff. Oddly enough, this is supposed to pull the infection out of your tooth and gums and relieve the pain long enough for you to get to a dentist. I tried it and it worked. It may be mind over matter,
but you try and judge for yourself.

Jack Daniel’s Whiskey is good for killing the pain temporarily. Now this is not to DRINK. Drinking it will only make the pain worse. If you hold the whiskey on the tooth, it will kill the pain for a little while. If Jack Daniel’s isn’t strong enough to kill the pain, get Bacardi 151 rum. If this doesn’t kill the pain, then nothing will. That stuff burns BAD when it sits on your tooth but it will kill the pain completely for a little while.

If you are not old enough to obtain whiskey or rum, go back to your cupboard and look for pure vanilla extract. Get a teaspoon full and swish it around on your tooth. This works much like the vegetable oil. It helped me for a little while but a lot of people say that this works wonders.

Finally, last but not least, my favorite remedy for pain that can be used in conjunction with all the others, except may the whiskey, is ibuprofen. You can take up to 800 MG every 4-8 hours and is an anti-inflammatory. Ibuprofen is a miracle drug that really does work. In conjunction with these other remedies, you may be able to make it until you can see your dentist!

These are not all of the remedies that are out there, but these are my personal favorites. Keep in mind that people react to things differently, and some of these may not work for you. My best advice would be to experiment. If there is astringent properties to something such as lemon or hydrogen peroxide, give it a shot. If you can’t find anything, get to the emergency room and they will give you something
to alleviate the pain. Hope you feel better!
