Five Cheap Summer Vacation Ideas

Vacation Ideas

Vacations can cost a lot of money, especially with the gas prices the way that they are now days. I am going to let you in on some great tips that will allow you to still take your summer vacation, but without spending as much money as you normally would. There are all kinds of things that you can do to decrease the amount that you spend on vacations. You just need to know where you can save so that you can still have a great time.

One thing that you can consider for vacation this summer is to visit your friends. Some of your friends may live in a place far away so that you can go out and see and do new things for a while. I am always having friends ask me to come to their house for a while. If you do too, take them up on it. It will be fun to visit friends and do things together.

Another idea is to go on an outdoor adventure. A lot of times during the summer my family will hike up the river and camp. Then on the last day of the trip we will build a raft made out of dead trees and float back to our house. If you don’t live next to a river, I am sure there is one near your house that you can drive to and float back to your car. This is a great way to have a summer vacation, while spending very little money.

You can also go treasure hunting. I have always loved to go out treasure hunting. Good places to go are old ghost towns, and old Indian sites. You can find some great treasures like arrow heads, pottery, old weapons, coins, etc. at these places. Stick in a camping trip, and you are set for a great summer vacation.

Another idea for a vacation is to just stay home. This may sound boring to most of you, but there is more to do home than you think. You can make a list of things that you have wanted to do within a hundred miles of your home. Spend a weekend or a week checking your list off. You will be surprised at how much fun you can have right in your own town.

A great idea that my family does in some summers is to visit hot springs. There are a lot of these areas around the US that are open to the public and are great places to visit. You can top it off by both taking an RV or a tent and camping around the springs. During the day you can sit in the warm water, and at night you can experience camping. This can be done for a very reasonable price.

I hope that these ideas have helped you come up with some great cheap summer vacation ideas. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to have a good time in the summer. Vacations are all about fun, not about how much something costs.
