Fireworks at Dodger Stadium

Dodger Stadium

Peanuts, popcorn, and… fireworks? Yes, Los Angeles baseball fans, your hometown Dodgers will host what one can only expect to be a memorable pyrotechnic show following their game against the New York Mets on the 4th. The game will start at 6:10 P.M., so the show may be a little late in the evening, but if you can stay out, it should be worth it. Here are some other things to know about the game and event:

Tickets

While tickets for the game are available in great quantity online, most sites, including Ticketmaster and Stubhub, will charge service fees– along with shipping fees if one is to have the tickets delivered– which may deter a casual fan from attending the game. To avoid service fees and charges, one can opt to go to Dodgers Stadium’s box office, or attend the game on the day itself and try to buy tickets off of scalpers, although doing the latter does entail a risk of not getting in. (Tickets may be available at the box office on the day of as well, so that might be a viable option as well). Tickets can be obtained for as little as $4.50 a piece, so what are you waiting for?

Weather

It is believed that it will be partly cloudy on Monday the 4th, with a high of 83 degrees Fahrenheit and a low of 66. In other words, bring a jacket and wear something warm, but don’t dress in a parka and snow boots.

The Matchup

Amid all of the festivities, many may forget that there is an actual game to be played; as aforementioned, the Dodgers will be hosting the Mets. Both are struggling National League clubs at under .500, and because of their subpar records, this should be a competitive game. The first game of a four game set, the Mets currently are leading the season series 2-1. All four games will be played at Dodger Stadium.

Location and Contact

The third oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball, and the park with the highest occupant capacity, Dodger Stadium is an iconic stadium to say the least. That being said, if you have never been to Dodger Stadium, it can be best described location-wise as a bit North of Downtown Los Angeles, and a bit West of Chinatown. The stadium’s address is 1000 Elysian Park Avenue, Dodgertown, California 90090– for those curious, the city moniker of “Dodgertown”, and its concomitant zip code 90090, were recent privileges for which the Dodgers waged war– and their telephone number for more information is (323) 224-1500. Have a good time!
