Are you contemplating hosting a fiesta themed party this year? Do you already know what party favors you want to hand out to your guests? If not, you may want to take a quick look at a few of my fiesta themed party favor ideas. Here they are:
Wooden Maracas
Based on my experience as a former party planner, wooden maracas make excellent party favors for kids of all ages. They seem to get a kick out of trying to make music with them. You can typically purchase 4 inch long and 2 inch wide maracas for as little as $2 each through assorted party supply shops. One party supplier that sells wooden maracas is Century Novelty.
Maraca Pens
If you are worried about the level of noise that a room full of maraca wielding children might make, there is another option. You could always hand out maraca pens instead. Maraca pens are also available for purchase through party supply stores for less than $2 each. The pens are typically 7.5 inches long and have a tiny maraca on one end. As such, they tend to make less noise than the full size version.
Sombreros
Sombreros make great party favors as well. They are quiet, inexpensive and easy to obtain. You can generally purchase a child size sombrero through party supply stores for $1. One retailer that often sells sombreros is Party Cheap. The hats tend to be 18 inches wide, 7 inches tall and come outfitted with a chin strap.
Chili Pepper Bracelets
Depending on your party guests’ ages, you may want to consider giving each one a chili pepper bracelet instead. The bracelets consist of bright red and green chilies. On average, chili pepper bracelets are 5 inches in diameter and sell for less than $3 each. You can usually purchase the bracelets through specialty retailers like Shindigz.
Serapes
Serapes make wonderful party favors too. Serapes are colorful scarves that you can make yourself. Of course you could also opt to purchase ready-made serapes. However, ready-made serapes will cost you significantly more money. You can generally purchase a 2 inch x 5 inch serape through specialty retailers like Amols for $13. A yard of fabric, on the other hand, is likely to cost you less than $5 and yield more than one child-sized serape.
Fiesta Donkeys
Last but not least, fiesta donkeys are likely to be a hit with the kids. Fiesta donkeys are designed to look like miniature versions of a piñata. They are made from vinyl and stand approximately 3 inches tall. You can typically purchase a dozen fiesta donkeys through party and craft suppliers like Oriental Trading for $9.
