LOCATIONS
The Merion
My brother was married at The Merionrecently, and it was pretty spectacular. He and his now-wife were married in November, which can be a cold month, yet they still used the outside area to have their ceremony in. In September and October, however, the weather would be even more perfect in their beautiful outside setting. Inside The Merion is very grand with high ceilings, marble everywhere, a grand staircase etc…There are four beautiful ballrooms for your ceremony and/or reception, and the food, with plenty of choices, was excellent. Located in Cinnaminson, NJ, about fifteen – twenty minutes outside of Philadelphia.
The Mansion
Located in Vorhees, NJ, The Mansion is a wonderful wedding location, and it is also minutes from Philadelphia. I have not been to a wedding there, but I have been to a spectacular wine tasting there which was lavishly done on different floors of this great building. With what they call (and they are right) a “dramatic staircase” this location is not only elegant, but memorable. What is so wonderful about their staff, is they will also help you with other services such as music, transportation and a photographer.
Seaview Resort & Spa
This place is gorgeous. Located in Galloway, New Jersey, on the bay and close to the shore and Atlantic City, the Seaview Resort & Spa is a fantastic place to have a wedding or a honeymoon stay. An Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa is located on the premises – massages, make overs, waxing…whatever you need for your visit or function or wedding. The vintage resort is also located on a golf course and is warm and cozy yet elegant at the same time. My husband and I enjoyed our stay there, and would love to go back. The landscape is gorgeous, and it is a forty-five minute drive from Philadelphia.
Hyatt Regency Philadelphia
A historic landmark, located in Philadelphia’s Penn Landing, the Hyatt Regency Philadelphia is on the waterfront, of the Delaware River in the eastern part of the city. It is a fun, vibrant and revamped location. Being a hotel, it has many wonderful amenities, such as an indoor pool surrounded by windows for great views, 3 different restaurants, a spectacular waterfront setting for weddings or special events (with in-house planners), and car rental place on site.
Fonthill Castle Estate
A gorgeous venue in Bucks County, Fonthill Castle Estate hosts many weddings in and on their beautiful grounds. Friends have bragged about this place with good reason. Weddings are taken care of by Memorable Affairs, who since the 1980’s, have helped many couples have wonderful weddings of a lifetime. Fonthill Castle Estate boasts fabulous outdoor areas, lined with trees or ponds or an open field as well as fine indoor areas such as their Pavilion. Depending on your drive, it is a half an hour to forty-five minutes outside of Philadelphia.
