According to Ken Ham in his book ,The Great Dinosaur Mystery Solved there is an explanation of dinosaurs Biblically. The mystery of dinosaurs and the Bible has been a debatable topic and is often used to discredit the Bible, but Ken Ham had done the study and research and inevitably solved the mystery.
He begins the book with an overview of scientist’s belief of dinosaurs he writes, “…dinosaurs are only a mystery if you accept the evolutionary story of their history. According to evolutionists: Dinosaurs first evolved around 235 million years ago, long before man evolved (the Mesozoic Era is called the ‘dinosaur age’). No human being ever lived with dinosaurs, say evolutionists…However around 65 million years ago something happened to change all of this-at the end of the Cretaceous period of the Mesozoic Era dinosaurs died out. Most evolutionists believe some sort of cataclysmic event(s) destroyed them. One of the most popular theories about their extinction is that an asteroid hit the earth…All these ideas are guesses and make dinosaurs a great mystery!”
But Ham believes in the truth and the power of the Bible and quotes the scripture, ” Colossians 2:3 states (about our Lord) ‘In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.'” He goes on to write according to the Bible, “Dinosaurs first existed around 6000 years ago because dinosaurs were land animals and God made all the land animals on day six of the creation week, dinosaurs were created on day six. Dinosaurs could not have died out before this time because death, bloodshed, disease, and suffering is a result of Adam’s sin. Adam and Eve were also made on day six along side the dinosaurs-so dinosaurs lived with people. Representatives of all the kinds of land animals, including the dinosaur kinds went on board Noah’s ark. All those that were left behind drowned in the cataclysmic circumstances of the flood-many of their remains became fossils.”
But what about the dinosaurs on the ark? Why didn’t they make it? Ham sites the Bible and writes, “because of sin, the judgment of the curse and the effects of the flood have greatly changed the earth. Since the flood many animals have died out from diseases, a lack of food, etc. The dinosaurs, like many other creatures, seem to have also died out.”
Ham then goes back to explain why people should trust the Word of the Bible then trust the words of man. He has a chart that says creation: God’s Word is Truth and Evolution is man deciding truth. He continues to write, “Scientists only have the present to work with -dinosaur fossils only exist in the present. Yet scientists try to connect the fossils to find the past…obviously no scientist has lived through all the history of the earth. There is no way to explain dinosaurs unless someone (who can be trusted) has recorded the events of history to enable us to explain the evidence we now see before us. Thus real science, using our five senses in the present, cannot ultimately answer questions about the unobservable, and unreported past!”
This book continues in depth about dinosaurs each dinosaur and scriptural references. He even sites where in the Bible that explains an actual dinosaur. It is referred to as a “Behemoth” and it says ‘Behold now behemoth which I made thee; he eateth grass as an ox. Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly. He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.” He says that many were mistaken in believing that behemoth are an elephant or rhino but none of these animals have tails like cedar trees. This passage seems to be more referring to something like a Brachiosaurus.
I agree with Ham because I know the Bible has already been proven to reveal truth from predictions and prophesies much ahead of time. Also I believe that most people do reverence the Bible and believe in the accounts of Christ. If you study all the Bible you will see that you can’t just pick out what you believe is true and that it has information about the past and creation. I know many people use Old Testament law that seem cruel or out of date so they discredit the Bible but that’s only because you haven’t fully studied The New Testament of the Bible and seen that Jesus said that if you believe in Him as your Savior you are redeemed from the Old Testament law.
