Easy Homemade Cinco De Mayo Party Favors

Cinco De Mayo Party, Mexican Flag

There are some really cheap ways to make homemade Cinco de Mayo party favors. Just put a little time and love into these crafty ideas to make your Cinco de Mayo party an instant hit. Your guests will appreciate the thoughtful touch.

Mexican Candy Favors

This is a sweet treat that you can give your guests as they exit your party. The materials you need for this favor are paper, ribbon or string, scissors, ink, printer and Mexican candy. First find a picture of a Mexican flag online and paste it into any word processing program. Resize it to fit around eight small flags on one sheet of paper.

Print this out and cut out each flag. Poke a hole in the corner and thread your string through and wrap it around your Mexican candy. You can buy Mexican candy at a small bodega, ethnic market or check out the international food section in your local market.

Homemade Cinco de Mayo Piñata Party Favor

If you can’t seem to find Mexican candy in your area then this is a great alternative Cinco de Mayo party favor. You’ll need brown paper lunch bags, red, white and green tissue paper, scissors, glue, a stapler, hole puncher, string and any candy to fill your Cinco de Mayo piñata.

First cut your tissue paper into strips and fringe the edge of each strip with scissors. Glue them to the paper bags to resemble a Mexican flag. Fill each bag with candy and staple them shut. Place a hole punch two inches from the top and tie a string with a little note that reads: Thanks for coming! Happy Cinco de Mayo!
