Dollhouse Man Cave

Man Cave

A regular guy gets tired of frills, lace, and pretty pink hearts; maybe Ken does, too. Set him up a cool man cave and he can kick back and relax. He’ll feel right at home when you clear a room of the Barbie doll accents, and give him some of his own. After all, every guy needs a special place where he can go to get away from it all.

You might or might not want a beer, scantily clad women, or other, R-rated theme for Ken’s man cave, but there are many more that you could do. Create a football, baseball, or basketball theme. Or make it a fishing-theme man cave. Maybe Ken likes cars and motorcycles; create a vehicle theme. You can do that in many different ways. Cut out pictures of fish, cars, or other images, put them in scrapbook or other tiny frames, and hang them on the wall. For a sports theme, cut a ball shape from cork, and make a cork board with a sports theme. Or, use the cork shape as a sports-theme welcome mat.

If Ken’s room has a bar, it doesn’t necessarily have to feature alcohol. Make tiny soda cans by using wooden pegs. Cut soda can images, which you print from the internet, and tape or glue them around the wooden pegs. Paint the tops to make more convincing cans. If you cut tiny pieces of plastic, you can make clings for bar glasses.

It’s not hard to make signs for Ken’s man cave, whether the signs be at the bar, or in his living room. Chalkboard cloth or contact paper can be cut to any shape, and framed. Write what you want to with a white paint marker; it will look like chalk but it will be permanent.

Turn a regular bed into a man cave bed by using a picture that you want. Cut or print a sports-theme picture, or another, and glue it to the headboard and/or foot board. With decoupage adhesive – found at a craft store – you can attach the picture in a professional manner.

Make man cave pillows by cutting two squares of felt. The felt can be the color of Ken’s favorite team. With a paint marker, create the sports theme, or other design, that you want on the front of the pillow. Then, glue around the perimeter on three sides, stuff the pillow, and glue the fourth side shut. You can also look into theme fabrics, for making a quilt, a rug, pillows, and more.

The entire dollhouse has a feminine appearance so Ken deserves to have a room to suit his tastes. With paper cutouts, fabric, and a few inexpensive craft supplies, you can fix him up a room to be proud of. Go ahead and call his friends over; they’ll want to come see the man cave for themselves.
