While playing Fable 2, the gamer realizes that everything they do, every choice they make, will have consequences in the future adventures. This also goes for expressions. Expressions are typically used to make the villagers think one way or the other about the Hero. However, they do other things as well. Expressions the Hero does will also spur the Hero’s dog into doing tricks.
Getting Dog Tricks
Throughout the game of Fable 2, there are books that can be purchased or found that will increase the number of tricks that the Hero’s dog can do. These can be in shops or can be found as treasure. All of the dog tricks can be done after the Hero does a certain expression. Each of the tricks is linked to more than one expression and is not dependent upon that expression succeeding or failing.
Wave
The dog trick of “wave” is done after the Hero blows a kiss, dismisses someone, has someone follow him/her, gives a gift, or does a thumbs up or thumbs down expression.
Beg
The trick of “beg” will have the dog begging after the Hero does the “come back to my place” expression, the pick up line, or begging himself.
Bunny Hop
An adorable dog trick, making Hero’s dog hop like a bunny can be done after the Hero does a heroic pose, blows a whistle, dances, laughs, or plays a lute.
Roll Over
The dog will roll over as a trick whenever the Hero tries to seduce a villager, worships a villager, or does an apology.
Hide Nose
The Hero’s dog will bury his nose in the dirt to try to hide it whenever the Hero belches or farts in the game.
Backflips
The Hero’s dog can do a backflip with ease and precision when the Hero does the hat/headband/moustache expression, or whenever he/she puts out a trophy.
Chase Tail
Make the Hero’s dog chase his tail round and round by having the Hero play with a sock puppet, do a victory arm pump, or do a vulgar thrust of the hips.
Play Dead
Playing dead is an easy trick for the Hero’s dog, this can be done when the Hero plays dead himself/herself or when the “chicken” expression is done.
Targeted Urination
The most sought after dog trick in the game, this allows the Hero’s dog to pee on the villager of your choice. This tricks works when the Hero does the middle finger, the kiss my @$$ expression, and the point and laugh expression.
Growl
The Hero’s dog will growl whenever your Hero does a bloodlust roar, tries to extort, feigns an attack, growls, slaps or threatens, or does a scary laugh.
Now for the most part it really won’t matter what trick the Hero’s dog is doing. However, there are some Demon Doors and items that will require the dog to do a certain trick in order to move the adventure forward. In this aspect, the Hero will need to know how to get the dog to do that trick, and which expression will do that.
