Skytop Lodge

Skytop Lodge is located in Skytop. It is a year round resort that offers dog sledding adventures through the company known as Snow Cap Sled Dogs. The dog sledding adventures typically take place on the resort’s grounds. Rates and tour availability vary. Other onsite winter activities include ice skating, snowshoeing, skiing and tobogganing.

The Inn at Pocono Manor

The Inn at Pocono Manor is located in Pocono Manor. It offers dog sledding excursions through the company known as Arctic Paws Dog Sled Tours. The sled rides traditionally take place onsite. Additional winter activities available in the area include horse-drawn sleigh rides, snowmobiling, ice skating, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Prices and tour availability are variable.

Inn at Jim Thorpe

The Inn at Jim Thorpe is located in Jim Thorpe. It is a charming facility that has a history of offering sled dog adventure packages during the winter months. In years past, the Inn’s winter packages included overnight accommodations, a dog sled ride and meals. Visitors interested in participating in the Inn’s packages should contact the facility’s staff directly.

Chapman State Park

Warren County’s Chapman State Park is located near Clarendon. It is home to the Annual Jim Lobdell Memorial Invitational. It is a dog sled race that typically takes place during the region’s Winterfest. The next one is scheduled to take place Friday, January 18 through Sunday, January 20, 2013. During the event, the dog sledding teams are expected to race from Chapman State Park to the Hickory Creek Wilderness Ranch. The Hickory Creek Wilderness Ranch is located in Tidioute. Visitors may enjoy watching the dog sled races and participating in Winterfest events. Additional Winterfest activities on offer include snow sculpting, snowshoeing, skiing and ice fishing.
