Bathroom Makeover, Bathroom Vanity, Diy Tips

Tired of your bathroom décor? Do you want a bathroom makeover but don’t have a lot of money? Read the following tips and see if these cheap tips can pay off for your bathroom.

Tips for the walls

Paint your walls if you can afford it. If not, try scrubbing the walls of your bathroom. No kidding, it will surprise you how much brighter the paint on your walls will look.

Tips on Borders

Watch for sales on “borders” and purchase enough to go around the top of your walls next to the ceiling. It will change people’s focus in your bathroom.

Rugs

Buying rugs for your bathroom is probably one of the quickest and easiest ways to change the look of your bathroom. You can change the color scheme of your bathroom with rugs and mats. Buy cheap and washable rugs.

Tips on creating a false window!

To give your bathroom a different focus, feel and look, try making a false window.

Find an old window with panes. Either paint the panes with outdoor scenes or fit pictures in the panes. Hang on the wall and put a curtain on it.

This can cover a blemish in your bathroom wall and it can divert attention away from other flaws in your bathroom.

Bathroom sink/vanity

Some sinks are stand alone on a column or attached directly to the wall. To give your sink a pick-me-up take cloth and attach it to the bottom of the sink.

Measure it long enough to reach to the floor. This will cover the pipes and/or column that you are tired of looking at.

You can attach the cloth by using Velcro. Glue Velcro to the bottom of the sink and attach Velcro to the cloth. The sink curtain is easy to attach and easy to wash.

Co-ordinate the colors of this sink cover to new rugs and you have definitely given your bathroom a facelift.

New vanity tip

Vanities can be expensive. We used an old chest of drawers that we had and turned it into our bathroom vanity.

Simply take the drawers out of dresser and measure the bottom side of the sink. Cut hole carefully. Most sinks have a “lip” on them and when you set the sink in the hole, it should fit snuggly.

You will probably not be able to use the first drawer or two, as this is where the pipes will be. But the bottom drawers should be functional.

You can paint the dresser any color you want and change the color anytime you want.

You will want to caulk where the sink meets the dresser top. And you will want to put a few coats of something to waterproof the dresser top.

This not only gives your bathroom a great makeover, it also is a conversation maker for years to come.

These are cheap tips to give your bathroom a makeover. You don’t have to spend a lot to give your bathroom a fresh new look!
