Discover Funland – Affordable Fun in Rehoboth Beach Delaware

Rehoboth, Rehoboth Beach

On your next trip to the Delaware beaches, be sure to stop in Rehoboth and visit Funland; a family amusement park right on the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk.

Housing over 18 rides and a good handful of games, Funland has been up and running for over 50 years. The family friendly amusement park is both affordable and fun.

The best part about Funland is the prices. You won’t break your wallet!

Tickets for rides are only $.30, and rides require anywhere from 1 to 5 tickets. Many of the kid rides are only 1 or 2 tickets, while the bigger rides take 3-5.

Try the bumper cars and test your driving skills while your friends and family watch from the boardwalk. Afterwards, you can jump on the paratrooper; a tilted ferris wheel which goes twice as fast!

Feeling adventurous? There’s the graviton, which is a spaceship where you climb inside and stand up around the perimeter. As the spaceship starts to spin, the floor drops and gravity holds you against the wall. No seating on this one!

Right next to the spaceship is one the newer rides called The SuperFlip. This is not recommend for anyone with a weak stomach! Get strapped into a seat as this ride lifts you up in the air and flips you frontwards, backwards and more.

There’s also the boat shaped dragon ride which swings like a pendulum. You can see pretty far when it reaches the peak height! (You can also hear people screaming on this ride from blocks away!)

And don’t forget to check out The Haunted Mansion. Pile into a cart run on a track and get taken through the house of ghouls, goblins and ghosts. The cart can hold up to two adults or three children. This is truly the best ride in all of Funland.

Each summer, there is a new scare in the haunted house. Something always changes! In 2011, they even added a camera which takes photos of riders going through the house. You can purchase your photo at the end of the ride!

Looking for something a little less intense? There are many other options, such as the Jungle Obstacle Course, the Helicopters and even the free fall ride.

If you have little ones, there is the famous carousel the entire family can enjoy. There are also smaller rides such as the fire engines, boats and car rides.

When you’re doing enjoying the amusement rides, head over to the many selection of games. Some even give you tickets you can redeem for prizes.

Test your luck in whac-a-mole. Grab a soft hammer and compete against others to see how many moles you can whack in a specified time frame. Sounds easy, but it’s tough!

You can also try frog bog where you try to flip rubber frogs into lilly pads, or try the goblet toss and see if you can throw your ball into one of the colored cups to win a stuffed animal prize.

There is also the very popular horse race game, as well as a bunch of other arcade games including ski-ball, the watergun race, and even throwing basketballs in hoops.

Funland is a great place for the whole family to enjoy. It’s open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. It tends to get the most crowded on hot summer evenings, especially in July.

One thing is for sure; everyone always has a smile on their face. (Even the employees!) Families love Funland. It’s part of what makes Rehoboth Beach special.
