DiGiorno Rising Crust Supreme Pizza

Digiorno, Frozen Pizza

Tonight, for the second night in a row, I am eating DiGiorno Rising Crust Supreme Pizza for dinner. Last night, I ate half of one of these excellent frozen pizzas and I hope to eat the other half tonight. This large frozen pie is loaded with fresh and tasty ingredients and is easy to prepare.

Presented here, as a service to the consumer at large, is an article which reviews and examines the DiGiorno Rising Crust Supreme Pizza.

Size
The net weight of the standard sized DiGiorno Rising Crust Supreme Pizza is 32.7 ounces (two pounds, 0.7 ounce). This is quite a large pie. According to the product’s nutrition facts label, 1/6 pizza counts as one serving and the pizza contains six 155 gram servings.

So far. I have eaten this variety of frozen pizza three times and each time, I have eaten at least half of the pie. The fabulous taste and texture of this pie are so good, I find it hard to stop eating the pizza once I’ve started.

Price
The regular retail price charged for one 32.7 ounce DiGiorno Rising Crust Supreme Pizza at Hartford, Connecticut area supermarkets generally ranges between $6.99 and $8.35.

Each time that I’ve purchased this pizza, it has been from the CVS Pharmacy located across the street from my apartment building. The pizza has been on sale each time I’ve bought it. Twice, the sale price was $5.99 and once it was $4.99.

Texture / Consistency
While the flavor of the DiGiorno Rising Crust Supreme Pizza is definitely above average, its various textures also contribute greatly to the overall appeal of the pie.

Firstly, the self rising crust, when baked according to directions, is nice and soft and chewy on the inside, with a slightly crispy exterior offered. A host of toppings are featured on this pie and each one possesses a different texture.

The sausage and pepperoni on this pie are virtually the same as those served at good pizza restaurants and they are chewy and fairly moist. Both red and green peppers are ingredients on this pie and the good-sized pieces are fresh and slightly juicy, yet firm.

Other toppings on this frozen pizza are pieces of onion and black pepper rings and both are fresh and moist. The cheese is suitably gooey and stringy. The overall mouth feel offered by this pie is very satisfying and is the closest to pizza parlor pizza I have ever encountered in a frozen pie.

My favorite part of a pizza pie is usually the sauce and the sauce on this pie is very good. It is somewhat sweet and is definitely better-tasting than most other frozen pizza sauces. The crust on this pie closely resembles a pizza restaurant-style crust and is a great tasting base for the other ingredients. The meat and vegetable toppings are, believe it or not, just about as good and tasty as the average pizzeria- prepared pie. The flavor of the cheese is great, it is real mozzarella.

On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign this product a seldom assigned rating of ten.

Packaging
DiGiorno Rising Crust Supreme Pizza is packaged in a heavy duty cardboard box. The front label features an appetizing closeup photo of the enclosed pizza and the rear and side labels list all pertinent ingredient and nutritional information, as well as baking directions and information regarding other DiGiorno products.

Inside the box, the pizza is further packaged in heavy duty, sealed plastic wrap. The wrap is thick and sealed securely. Every time I eat one of these pizzas, I have to open the wrap with either a kitchen knife or a pair of scissors.

Overall Rating
If you enjoy eating delicious thick crust pizza pie, there’s a good chance you would like the DiGiorno Rising Crust Supreme Pizza. Available at food retailers across America, this pizza is designed to be cooked in conventional ovens and when it’s baking, the aroma that is given off smells like an authentic pizza restaurant.

The DiGiorno Rising Crust Supreme Pizza is a highly recommended product.
