Decorate Your Bedroom Around a Tapestry

Tapestry

One of the growing trends in Allen, Texas is decorating in Tuscany flavor. You may not be into this sort of thing, but if you have a tapestry that you just do not know what to do with you may find it as a central focus on your bedroom. A few things to consider are how large the tapestry is, how to display it, and the colors that are within it.

Separate the colors in your mind as to what stands out the most. For instance, if the tapestry is a picture of a sunset in a harbor you will see blacks, dark blues, yellow, white, oranges, some red and maybe purples. The ships or boats will have grays and a variety of other colors broken up in smaller segments. Look at what the larger groupings of colors are within the tapestry. These are what you will more likely want to match in décor in your bedroom.

Let’s say you found the crimson red and pale yellows appealing for bedroom décor. A bedspread and matching curtains or drapes will bring these colors to life into your room. Some accent pillows with other colors from the tapestry might look good as well. If you are not making these, consider the fact that you can return them if you do not like how they look. Proceed with caution in choosing colors so that you make a good judgment for the long run.

Maybe you want a different tapestry in your room. There are plenty to choose from online and in stores. A general theme in many tapestries are garden scenes or landscapes by a body of water. When choosing a tapestry for your bedroom, think about the colors you do want. This will allow you to choose the right tapestry instead of letting the tapestry dictate how you should decorate.

Similar in choosing a mat for a picture, find a color in the tapestry that is not as noticeable throughout the picture. You may find many to choose from. These are the colors you will find more appealing in painting your bedroom should you choose to do so. As in any decorating, a light color is advisable in a small bedroom. You can go darker in a larger room.

Shop around for items at garage sales, flea markets, or regular retail stores that will accent the picture shown in your tapestry. A garden view will look good with different small pots of silk flowers, ferns and ivy. A landscape view may come to life with an indoor water fountain set up on its own table in a corner.

Add some mirrors here and there to bring more light into the room. Did you find a good bedspread and drapes? How about accent pillows? Maybe that is too fru fru for you. A fresh coat of paint on your furniture will show continuity throughout the bedroom. You may be at the point of looking for a new bedroom suite. Again, think of the colors in the tapestry.

Smaller pictures to carry on the theme of your tapestry can be placed strategically around the bedroom. Pictures of specific flowers or similar colors in general will draw out the focus on the tapestry to the rest of the room. Colored candles can also add more life to your decorated bedroom.

The best way to finish decorating your bedroom is to remove any signs of an office, entertainment, or other distraction. You may have to resort to storing some things into boxes or totes, and stashing them either in your closet or garage. You will sleep better at nights knowing your bedroom was decorated by yourself, and it looks the way you wanted it to appear.
