Celebrity Net Worth ‘The Godfather’ – Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, James Caan & Diane Keaton

Al Pacino, Brando, Diane Keaton, Marlon Brando

“The Godfather” was the movie that redefined the Hollywood gangster film for all time. Amazingly, its director, Francis Ford Coppola, was a newcomer and didn’t have the studio’s faith behind him to call the shots. All worries the film wouldn’t do the bestselling book by Mario Puzo proud faded when it soared as a mega hit. It was followed up by two big sequels. The film’s stars Al Pacino, Marlon Brando, James Caan and Diane Keaton went on to become household names. What’s the real life Corleone family’s celebrity net worth?

Al Pacino
He played the war veteran and the quiet son of the Godfather. As Michael Corleone in the first movie, Al Pacino slowly built up his reputation as being even more ruthless than his dad, played by Marlon Brando. Pacino would go on to star in many other movies, but it’s hard to shake the image of him as the Godfather in training from Puzo and Coppola’s creation. Pacino won a Best Actor Oscar for his role in “Scent Of A Woman”, and he even played the devil himself in “The Devil’s Advocate” opposite Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron. Pacino’s personal fortune is an offer nobody could refuse. He has an estimated net worth of $135 million dollars.

James Caan
He was the family hothead, the violent one. As eldest Sonny, James Caan carved a colorful screen personality fans remember well. On the DVD commentary, director Coppola states the actor hung out with the real deal, by spending time with real life wiseguys on their turf. The actor himself says that he was so identified with Sonny, or so confused with the fictional mobster, that for years people really thought he was in the Mafia. Caan went on to many other memorable roles, but if Sonny is recalled as his best performance as a young man, then his role as abused writer in Stephen King’s, “Misery”, from director Rob Reiner, would be known as Caan’s tour de force performance in middle age. Caan’s net worth comforts him through any misery. He’s worth an estimated $40 million dollars.

Marlon Brando
Marlon Brando was a true screen icon. Not only did the movie going audience love him, but the acting community almost universally felt he was the best actor of his or many other generations. Brando’s role in “The Godfather” was something of a return for him, after a few less than stellar box office forays. The studio didn’t want him at first, but after a ‘screen test’ of sorts, they relented. Brando went on to be Superman’s Jor-El in Richard Donner’s classic comic book movie myth, and regularly acted until his death in 2004. Brando was known as a rather extravagant spender of his loot, but with an estimated fortune of $100 million dollars, he really didn’t have to watch his money like most of us.

Diane Keaton
Before she became known to us as Woody Allen’s favorite on screen gal, she was Michael Corleone’s wife, the long suffering Kay Adams. Keaton’s professional collaboration with Allen has made her so identified with wacky situations or romantic comedies, that sometimes it’s difficult to remember that she’s an accomplished dramatic actress. Her talent is perhaps on best display in the Godfather movies, as she skillfully brings to life a woman who loves a man dearly, but absolutely hates the things he does and the person he’s becoming. Keaton’s estimated net worth is a bubbly $32 million dollars.

Robert DeNiro
He actually starred in the sequel, “The Godfather II”, but he played Vito Corleone as a young man, so his Godfather pedigree is forever intertwined. DeNiro’s acting reputation has become almost as legendary as Marlon Brando’s and he excels at drama, thrillers or comedies like “Analyze This” or “Meet The Parents”. He’s active in independent movie circles and was one of the founders of the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City, after the tragedy of September 911. DeNiro’s estimated worth is a fatherly $184 million dollars.
