Butterscotch FurReal Pony Not Woth $300

Coffe, Hasbro, Pony

Hasbro Toy Company’s FurReal friends is best known for its robotic life like toy creations of animals. This winter Hasbro Toy Company is introducing their newest FurReal creation which exceeds any previous FuReal toy creation, and this new creation is Butterscotch the FurReal Pony.

Butterscotch is not just your ordinary play pony, at first sight you would think of her to be an actual pony, she is just that real looking. Children will be overjoyed to have this real life like pony. Butterscotch is modeled after the miniature Shetland pony and stands about 3 ft. tall. She is of a smooth coffe color with a white mane, that children can spend hours grooming. She not only looks realistic but acts realistic; Buttersoth will respond to the child’s voice by turning her head toward them, and blinking her eyes. Buttersocth breathes air through her nostrils.

She has sensors on various parts of her body so that when she is petted, near those particular sensors, she will turn her head toward that area. Her ears move, eyes blink, she snorts and whinnies, and will sniff the child’s hand. She swishes her tail, and will move her mouth to “chew” her plastic carrot, when the child feeds her. If the child holds the carrot in front of butterscotch’s face, she will open her mouth for it or shake her head no, if she has had enough. She’s sensitive to light and whimpers if it becomes too dark, to indicate to the child that she is scared. She moves up and down when a child sits on her, and she can also hold up to 80 pounds. Butterscotch costs a good $259- $300 dollars.

Sure any child, male or female will gush over this life size pony, but is she really worth the price? I say no. I say no because Butterscotch is completely stationary, she does not move her legs, she can not walk, instead, she makes walking sounds, and on top of that the 6 D batteries are not even included! I figure if the company is going to go through all that to make Butterscotch life-like they might as well make her walk like a real pony. Sure Butterscotch is amazingly realistic and beautiful, and that up close and at a distance this toy pony could fool anyone into believing she is a real pony, but that price is ridiculous! Butterscotch should be priced at $150 minimum and $190 maximum. A $300 dollar price tag would only be justified if children could literally hop on her and go for a ride at least 2 miles per hour.

Butterscotch is retailed at $300.00 and is recommended for ages 4 -10. She comes with carrot, brush, halter and certificate of adoption. She stands over 3 ft. tall, at 39″ and takes 6 D batteries of which are not included. Adult assembly is required.
