Bunco is fast becoming the most popular game amongst women in the country. Each month the host will usually create a theme for her months Bunco night, but after many months, or even years, we can run out of ideas and search the internet for some fresh ideas to impress your Bunco group or add to the list of theme ideas for your local Bunco group.

Unique Bunco Party Themes

*Disco Bunco- Grab your bell bottoms and your go-go boots and decorate your house in peace signs, a disco ball, tie-dye and love beads because Disco Bunco is bound to be a funky night to remember. Don’t forget to put on the Bee Gees and a little Abba. For food ideas for this theme, you can try old fashioned fare like fondue, cheese fondue and chocolate fondue for dessert.

*Happy Days Bunco- Pull out the poodle skirt, find your inner pink lady, and relive the Happy Days of the 50’s. Turn on La Bamba and swoon along to Johnny Angel while enjoying some homemade hamburger’s, fries, fountain sodas and ice cream shakes. Decorate with records, James Dean photos and Grease Posters. You can’t get any cooler than that.

*Go Green- Have everyone wear green, tell them to carpool, bring a recycled gift to share, decorate in green and earthy decor. Play some nature music, or some light airy music. Serve green food or healthy food, such as fruits, veggies, be creative and save the earth!

Trashy Bunco- This might be a little out there for some, but for my group, this was one of the most fun. Everyone dressed up in white tank tops and cut off shorts, tacky clothes, holes in their clothes, stains on their shirts, babies on their hips, bare feet, you name it, this is something that allows for alot of creativity. Decorate with tacky decorations on purpose or put some cardboard boxes around, make things look disheveled. As for food, some great ideas are old fashioned and simple, taco salad, top ramen, macaroni and cheese, sloppy joe’s, crank up the country tunes like “I want my mullet back” by Billy Ray Cyrus. Old fashioned blue ribbon beer and some peanuts or pretzels will make this a hilarious night to remember or try to forget!

*Pajama Party- Tell the girls to come in their jammies, slippers and robe too! Serve snack food, soda and candy. Decorate with pillows and posters of cute boys. Play 80’s songs on the radio and tell the girls who you have a secret crush on! Even if it is your husband!.

Whatever your theme, tell your guests what to expect, the more clear you are on what you would like to create, the more likely they are to participate and to enjoy themselves when they get there. Be creative and have fun, make your Bunco the one that everyone would like to top and they will remember all year long.
