Bumble and Bumble Curl Conscious Conditioner – Review

Bumble and Bumble, Hair Type, Wavy Hair

I have naturally thick wavy hair. The type of hair where people say they are jealous, yet if they only knew…

Due to the fact that my hair is naturally wavy and thick, I can easily curl my hair using just about anything that will induce curls. From gel to mouse, my hair will easily take to it and curl up.

I don’t like wearing my hair curly though, it always feels weighed down, grimy, and dirty. However I do like the look of my hair when it is curly…but only when the product does not weigh down my hair with a bunch of sticky gross chemicals.

In a box of freebies that was given to me, I dug up a bottle of Bumble and Bumble Curl Conscious Conditioner.

I had used curl enhancing conditioners before in my past with puffy fluffy ugly results. I never really found a conditioner that enhanced my curls while keeping the frizz and puff at bay. I had a feeling that Bumble and Bumble Curl Conscious Conditioner would give me the same results that products had given in the past…which was crap.

Packaging:

Bumble and Bumble Curl Conscious Conditioner comes in odd packaging compared to other Bumble and Bumble hair care products. Usually Bumble and Bumble products would come with a honey yellow/orange label with the signature Bb logo written on the bottle.

Bumble and Bumble Curl Conscious Conditioner though comes in solid white bottle with the name of the product on the bottle in English, and a bunch of other languages that I do not know.

Scent:

Bumble and Bumble Curl Conscious Conditioner smells just like Bumble and Bumbles Super Rich Conditioner which has a pleasant cucumber melon mixed with some sort of fruity hard candy. The initial smell though is cucumber melon.

The Promise:

Bumble and Bumble Curl Conscious Conditioner promises to soften the frizz and calm the kink (we shall see). The conditioner also states that it contains an amazing curl enhancing ingredient (again; we shall see).

My Use:

I’m going to be honest, I did not initially use Bumble and Bumble Curl Conscious Conditioner to get bouncy springy frizz free curls, I initially used it because I liked how it smelled. I figured if I didn’t get nice looking curls, I would at least get some lovely stinking hair

In the shower I used Bumble and Bumbles gentle shampoo first, and then I went with a half palm full of Bumble and Bumble Curl Conscious Conditioner. I left the conditioner in my hair for about 5 minutes (the package states to leave it in for 2).

After rinsing the cucumber melon scented conditioner from my hair I did feel a nice moisturizing silkiness. However most conditioner leave this nice silky feeling behind while rinsing. We all know the true test takes place while air drying.

While air drying my hair did produce it’s usual poof and frizz. I have thick unruly hair though, and this is a natural occurrence. Sigh.

After my hair was fully dry I can’t say I noticed much of a difference when it came to curls. My hair was left looking it’s usual self. Fluffy and frizzy.

Overall:

Disappointed. Bumble and Bumble Curl Conscious Conditioner is just not meant for my hair type. I don’t know how well this would work on those with thinner wavy hair…perhaps it would work wonders? Seeing how I don’t have this hair type though, I cannot make a call.

I wouldn’t buy Bumble and Bumble Curl Conscious Conditioner on my own. I am glad I got to try it for free though.

Where To Buy:

You can purchase it online by clicking here. I do not know which stores carry it as I have never seen it in any local stores.
